AP/HONORS AGREEMENT:
39
Advanced Placement (AP)/Honors/Accelerated courses are YEARLONG courses with heavier workloads than College Prep (CP) courses. AP coursework is equivalent to college-level courses. Please make youself aware of the rigor, expectations, workload of all courses you are considering. It is expected that all students enrolled in an AP course will commit to the entire year. AP Test Registration is in November and students will have to decide whether or not to take the AP exam by November.
40
> AP/Honors/Accelerated courses are faster-paced and cover more material and demand more time and effort then CP courses.
41
> AP/Honors/Accelerated courses typically assign students summer assignments.
42
> AP/Honors/Accelerated teachers expect students to be able to think critically, analyze and synthesize facts, data and information, weigh competing perspectives, and articulate their thoughts and ideas through oral discussion and writing.
43
> AP/Honors/Accelerated students should expect to spend an average of 3-8 hours per week, per course, on homework.
44
> Weighted grades in AP/Honors courses may be calculated into GPA for college acceptence depending on institution.
45
> AP/Honors/Accelerated classes are YEARLONG commitments and CANNOT be dropped after Aug 21, 2020.
46
> I understand the commitment, rigor, expectaions and workload involved in the AP/Honors/Accelerated courses I've chosen.
