HumanAbility Score Increase. Your ability scores each increase by 1. You can forego one of these increases for one additional roll on the Genetic Benefit table.

Age. Humans reach adulthood in their late teens and live between 80 and 110 years depending on the level of technology in the setting.

Alignment. Humans don’t naturally adhere to any alignment, or even to the concept of alignment.

Size. Humans vary widely in height and build. Nutrition, genetics, and gender all play factors. The average height for men is 5’5” while women is 5’2”, and anything between 5 feet and 6’5” can be considered within the median.

Speed. Humans have a vast variety of walking speeds, based on both height and physical fitness…but this is a game, so they all have a speed of 30 feet.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write in your native language and one extra language of your choice. While the current 'common tongue' of our planet is English, who is to say what it will be in the future? Humans typically learn the languages of other peoples they
deal with, including obscure dialects.

Genetic Benefit (UM Page #13)- Select or roll for one genetic benefit below. You can gain additional benefits by either forgoing one of your +1 ability score increases, or by incurring a penalty by selecting a shortcoming. The GM may choose to limit the number of benefits you can gain - generally no more than two or three. The GM may also require you to roll for both benefits and shortcomings instead of choose, to enforce the randomness of the genetic lottery.

Nugenic
(Neurospasta)
These are genetically altered humans that have had their code tinkered in utero by their parents. Nugenics are still very much human, but many, including themselves, believe them to be of superior stock.

Ability Score Increase.
Increase two of the following ability scores by two: Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma.

Age. Nugenics enter puberty the same as normal humans (9-13 for girls, 11-15 for boys) but they don’t exhibit any physical depreciation due to their age until their late 60s to even early 80s. Given the recent development of nugenic technology, no nugenic has died from an age-relate causes; as such, there is no clear indication of their maximum age, so some evidence indicates it can be in excess of 110 years.

Size. Nugenics range between 5’8” and 6’2”. They weigh between 135 and 170 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Superior Vision. Genetic tampering has improved your vision. You have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light.

Languages. You begin play speaking English. You can chose two additional languages.

Controlled Psyche. You can resist mental effects. You have advantage with all Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws against any non-dive effects.

Phenomenal Skills. You gain proficiency in two skills of your choice.

Progressive Individual. You gain a "FullPlay" SEED as a free cybernetic.

Unfaltering Resolve. Select either Charisma, Intelligence, or Wisdom. If you fail any ability check using your selected attribute by 4 or less, you may reroll. You must take the second result. You may only attempt this once per check.

Prosthetic
(Neurospasta)
Prosthetics are individuals who, through accident or choice, have lost most of all of their organic bodies save their brain. The flesh is replaced by advanced cybernetics, in this case a total body prosthesis. This is the path one must pick if they plan on heavy cyberization later.

Ability Score Increase. Increase two of the following ability scores by two: Constitution, Dexterity, Strength.

Age. Prosthetics can become so at technically any age, though younger ones are uncommon. However, as long as a prosthetic body has routine maintenance, it is effectively ageless. Thus, you can choose how old you actually look, and remain that “age” as long as you remain in the same body.

Languages. You begin play speaking English.

Size. Prosthetic models cover a range from 5’ to 6’2”. Prosthetics weigh more than traditional organics despite how large they actually look. Your actual weight is 25% more than how you’re perceived. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Fully Body Prosthesis. As having a complete artificial body, you are able to purchase and upgrade FBP cyberware. You do not gain a cyberbody from the equipment section. Your attributes represent the model you have acquired at character creation.

Progressive Individual. You gain a "FullPlay" SEED as a free cybernetic.

Enhanced Model. You may choose ONE of the following upgrades to your prosthetic body:

Fedor Alpha One: You gain a +1 bonus to all melee damage rolls. At 11th level, this bonus increases to +2. You also gain proficiency with Strength (Athletics)
Panther Mark II: If you roll a natural 1 with any Dexterity ability check or saving throw, you can reroll. You also gain proficiency with Dexterity (Acrobatics).

Titan Ironshell: Your hit point maximum increases by 1 and it increases by 1 every time you gain a level. Also, your speed is not reduced while wearing heavy armor.

True-Born
(Neurospasta)
The vast majority of the planet are still home-grown organic human beings born in the traditional way and not tinkered with by science. Someone rolled the dice and what emerged has all the normal virtues and flaws of anyone else born in the previous few million years of human evolution.

True-born are identical to humans from Ultramodern5, with the notable addition below.

Progressive Individual. You gain a "FullPlay" SEED as a free cybernetic.

6
Virtuant
(Nuerospasta)
The rarest of individuals, virtuants have no organic components at all, and are entirely digital personalities. Their minds reside on remote servers, and they interact with the physical realm through prosthetic bodies or robots.

Age. Virtuants enter the real world as developed adults, and considering they assume prosthetic bodies, are virtually ageless.

Encyclopedic Recall.
You have proficiency in all Intelligence checks when recalling lore of any kind.

Languages. You begin play speaking English as well as four additional languages.

Progressive Individual. You gain a "FullPlay" SEED as a free cybernetic.

Fixed Origin. You cannot select a background despite where you were built or conceived. You gain two skill proficiencies and two tools of your choice. Your lifepath can be a mix of fabricated and real events.

Machine Origin. You might have a personality, but there still remains something inflexible in your mind. You have proficiency with all Wisdom saving throws.

Remote. Your prosthetic body only contains a fragment of your personality and your short term memory. You cannot control more than one slave prosthetic at any one time. If a slave prosthetic you are connected to is destroyed, you must acquire a new one and have it synced with your home server. You cannot simply dive into a nearby machine. You must acquire a new body and have it fitted.

Severed Link. Unlike other races, only part of your personality sits in your physical body. The majority exists in an external memory you constantly access. You are assumed always connected as only your short term memory sits in the slave. If your connection to your home system is severed (by either a dive attack, entering a jamming field, or going paranoid), you can still operate as the slave body but have disadvantage with all Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma ability checks, attacks, and saving throws. Your server can be physically destroyed. It is a 1 hit point minion. If destroyed, you are dead.

Subrace. The two main kinds of virtuant is dependent on if they are implanted in a human-like
prosthetic body
Choose ONLY 1

(Option 1) Prosthetic Subrace: As a prosthetic, you closely resemble an organic human, with only stigma markings revealing your true origin. You often wonder what truly separates you from the humans that created you.

Ability Score Increase. Increase two ability scores by two. Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution cannot be higher than 18 at 1st level.

Size. As virtuants control prosthetic bodies, they cover a range from 5’ to 6’2”. Prosthetics weigh more than traditional organics despite how large they actually look. Your actual weight is 25% more than how you are perceived. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Fully-Body Prosthesis.
As a complete artificial body, you are able to purchase and upgrade FBP cyberware. You do not gain a cyberbody from the equipment section. Your attributes represent the model you have acquired at character creation.

(Option 2) Robotic Subrace: Ability Score Increase. Increase one ability score by two, and another by one. Charisma cannot be higher than 14 at 1st level.

Size. Depending on the model of robot chosen, your size can be Small, Medium, or Large. While it is an uncommon choice for obvious reasons, a Large chassis can optionally house your entire cyberbrain, so you never lose connection with your body.

Speed. Your speed is determined by the robot body you occupy. Your initial body can have one of three movement modes:
1. Walking speed of 30 feet.

2. Walking speed of 20 feet, ignoring penalties for difficult terrain.

3. Wheeled chassis with a drive speed of 40, but you have disadvantage on all movement-related rolls in difficult terrain.

Robot Upgrades. You may use a robot body, but you are still a virtuant. You cannot install robot upgrades but can employ cybernetics as long as the upgrade makes physical sense. You can also swap out your body later for others listed in the Opponents chapter. If you do so, you replace your physical ability scores, size, movement speeds, and Armor Class with those of the new model. You do not gain any of that model's other traits. You are not limited to the appearance of the models described in the Opponents chapter—hundreds of robot designs exist, so your appearance is up to you.
