|CPS STUDENTS - PLEASE SPEAK TO THE INTERNSHIP COORDINATOR FOR YOUR PROGRAM BEFORE APPLYING FOR AN INTERNSHIP|
You must have permission from the internship coordinator for your program before you can sign up for internship credits.
All internship programs have their own internal calendar. You cannot start too early to research the application cycle and procedure of the type of internship you are interested in; for example it is not too early to start researching a year ahead for a national, competitive program.

|Southern Education Foundation Leadership Initiative||various||http://www.southerneducation.org/seli||mes||12/17/2015||"Paid fellowship for graduate students or undergraduate students - "In 2004, the Southern Education Foundation (SEF) initiated a unique program of outreach to young people to commemorate the 50 year anniversary of the United States Supreme Court’s decision in Brown v. Board of Education, with deeds, not just words. The aim was simple: expose a new generation of highly motivated and gifted college upperclassmen and graduate students to the importance of improving education for all, especially low-income people who need help the most. By placing students to serve as summer fellows in leading Southern foundations and non-profit organizations concerned with fairness and improvements in education policy and practice, SEF sought to create new leaders to help the South continue its progress in improving educational equity and opportunity for all.|
Since 2004, 185 students from leading Southern colleges and universities have participated in what is known today as the Southern Education Leadership Initiative (SELI).....The selection process for fellows is highly competitive. SEF’s website provides additional information about the summer fellowship and its application and eligibility requirements. "
