Law clerks host their own CLEs every 3 months when their judges are holding district judge's meeting. We are given no budget by the Supreme Court or our local district; we have to find speakers willing to come in and speak for free. Based on the current state of affairs in our country I believe this is an important topic; especially in the court system.

We typically pay our speaks a few hundred dollars at most, with the costs listed above being unrealistic for us.Lutheran Social Service of MN Senior Corps ProgramsTo better enable our Senior Corps volunteers to serve the youth and seniors they interact with on a daily basis. We have a lot of diversity within our Programs be it race, socioeconomic status, beliefs, life experience, etc. and need everyone to have a base understanding of how these varied perspectives affect their interactions with others - with a goal of having the most impactful, respectful and successful interactions possible. To provide an impactful training experience for our volunteers in a time of change, and unfortunately negative rhetoric within the general public. Volunteers provide real faces in the community, representing our agency and Programs on a daily basis, therefore need to be better equipped with their understanding of and ability to speak about diversity. We utilize DHS equipment, with speakers typically brining along their own laptop to connect to their technology for everyone to view the training on screens at each location

Even our keynotes (who also deliver workshops) are being paid less than the minimum above. I completely understand the importance of asking for and receiving fair compensation, but the budget is very tight and I have limited resources. What would be reasonable for Andre and AM Horizons?

Thanks very much for your understanding!

The work we did in our last all staff has helped out diversity committee's initiative and has been changeing the culture of our agency which is comprised of various people, of various lifestyles, backgrounds, beliefs, ages, and ethnicities. This keynote would truly benefit the agency as a whole and we would like it to be 60 minutes of presentation, 15 minutes of Q&A, and 30 minutes of a related activity. There does not have to be a specific order to it, we truly trust Andre and his judgement! In our budget, we have alotted $300/hr. but are willing to negotiate some. We can supplu any equipment needed for his presentation or the activity. Please call or email with any questions.
