4	ISSUE CUT	Parents and students need solutions that can reach them now: Parents are concerned about getting their children on grade level. While LAUSD has largely been focusing on resolving staffing issues and maintaining school safety, kids have felt an immense shift that continues to impact their mental health and academic performance. Parents feel a sense of urgency to find solutions that can reach students now.	Equity issue: Some LAUSD families are living in tutoring deserts - areas within LAUSD community that have less access to quality tutoring programs than others.	Tutoring isn't accessible in underserved communities: Hiring private tutors is out of reach for the communities we serve - these services are too expensive. Families are clear they need tutoring to help their students recover from learning loss, but they can’t access it. There aren’t enough tutoring providers currently serving SELA.
