4 | 102C3862000 00001 P/N | Hynix | H5GQ2H24AFR | There appears to be AFR cards with botched configuration too. You should see a healthy boost at 1125MHz MEMCLK and above, peaking at 1500MHz (exact). | https://www.dropbox.com/s/k8aq3lb74pbl5sx/MBA_C862000-004_K2_AGR.zip | https://www.mediafire.com/?tj1g3vposcyx9v5

8 | ASUS 7950 DirectCU II Top V2 | Hynix & Elpida | ASUS_PI-101_AGR = Hynix MFR cards updated BIOS. ASUS_PI-104_AGR = Elpida cards updated BIOS. Noticed a small improvement in hash rates on a lowered core clock speed 1000/1575, however not much difference at my standard 1100/1575 (where I get 660-690 across the cards) @ 1.087v. | https://www.dropbox.com/s/mhs24gf2oidb92z/HD7950-DC2T-3GD5-2DIS_Hynix_Elpida.zip

11 | Asus HD7970 Matrix Platinum | Can't see any major issues with your bios, however Matrix Platinum cards have very high engine clock and therefore a very high PPI. This might help a bit for 1050MHz+ engine clocks. The peak performance should be available at >1500MHz MEMCLK, the latency is still tighter at that region. Please try "exact" MEMCLK values which will yield a matching frequency preset (e.g. 1250MHz, 1375MHz, 1500MHz, 1625MHz). | https://www.dropbox.com/s/fzick1qybue4wz6/ASUS_280X_X3_P_AGR.zip

78 | SAPPHIRE HD 7970 GHz Edition 6GB GDDR5 VAPOR-X | Hynix | Please note that these changes have never been tried on 6GB memory amount. Since there are twice the amount of GDDR5 ICs the memory controller has to "work" twice as hard. In case it works without issues, you should see a hefty increase right away (+140-150kHash). Let me know if there is any issues with stability or artifacts, I can make it slightly less aggressive then. No improvement reported by Rngkay (original poster). | https://www.dropbox.com/s/ft3dfk93hpnsmia/100351-6GVXSR_AGR.zip
79 | SAPPHIRE HD 7970 GHz Edition 6GB GDDR5 VAPOR-X | The memory controller configuration was altered completely. In case it is too much to the MC to take the card may refuse from posting. In case it works but still does not improve the hashrate, it might be because the memory is working in x16 "Clamshell" mode. Normally it operates at x32 mode, but since there are twice the GDDR5 ICs on you card the lanes are also splitted (24x x16 vs. 12x x32 == 384-bit). However even in the worst case you cannot brick the card permanently as long as you have another working card (any card). In that case the working card must be placed in the primary PCI-E slot and the non functional to the one of the secondary slots. Thats the worst case scenario and most of the cards have dual bioses anyway. | https://www.dropbox.com/s/kdipi1y53ikxb91/100351-6GVXSR_AGR_T2.zip
80 | Sapphire R9 280X OC Dual-X | Elpida | EDW2032BBBG | Your poor hashrate is not caused by the latency because your card uses Elpida. The card is either throttling (Powertune or VRM/GPU temperatures) or you are using wrong settings for it (the hashrate newer goes past 550k range without "-g 2 option" in cgminer, atleast for me). | https://www.dropbox.com/s/y85vbxtlt3zgjq8/Sapphire_E2104-UX2_AGR.zip | https://www.dropbox.com/s/hdkcvgai3fxaq3r/Sapphire-280X-OC-Dual-X.zip
81 | Sapphire R9 280X Vapor-X | Hynix | I've currently investigating a issue I found on certain Sapphire bios versions. Some of the most recent version seem to alter the configuration of the VRM controller in way it shouldn't be done. It does not raise voltages but changes the VRM parameters instead. It causes the VRM temperatures to raise over 20 celcius and therefore the card throttles pretty easily. 7970 and 280X cards are affected, might be 7950 too (if equipped with CHL8228 controller). | https://www.dropbox.com/s/7y5fs3dh000fh46/Sapphire_E21004-U42_AGR.zip

19 | The 64-128KB is just filled with zeros unless the bios is a UEFI file.
20 | Atiflash & GPU-Z for example dump the content of the whole flash IC.
21 | The flash IC on Radeons is 128KB or 256KB (XFX) in size, so there will be atleast 64KB of meaningless data in case the bios is not UEFI.
22 | Also the bios name is completely irrelevant, you can name the bios.bin file to siob.nib for example and it will still work fine as long as you don't modify the contents of the binary.

24 | Frequencies | |||
25 | These optimised bioses are calibrated in way that the latency will remain roughly the same if you use the exact frequency ranges I told. These bioses have the lowest latency at 1500MHz preset (both Elpida and Hynix) so I would advice to use it.
26 | ||||
27 | E.G. | |||
28 | 1500.0MHz (uses 1500MHz preset) - Bandwidth 288GB/s
29 | 1501.0MHz (uses 1625MHz preset) - Bandwidth 288.192GB/s but worse latency and therefore performance
30 | 1625.0MHz (uses 1625MHz preset) - Bandwidth 312GB/s, roughly the same latency as on 1500MHz preset
31 | ||||
32 | Scrypt does not require the bandwidth but latency instead.
33 | That is the reason you want to use exact frequencies only!
34 | ||||
35 | GPU Threads | |||
36 | Change "gpu-threads" to 2 and see if that makes any difference (it should).
37 | Without the fixed bios "gpu-threads" = 2 (or -g 2) should not work, it actually should retard the performance.
38 | However after the fix the threads need to be 2.

42 | ||||
43 | Memory Types | |||
44 | The stuff are different between other; Hynix AFR, Hynix MFR, Elpida AFR y Elpida MFR. If you install the BIOS for other memory different than yours it may not work. |
