Interdisciplinary Collaboration Grants ProgramFebruary 1, 2022$10,0001 yearThe Interdisciplinary Collaboration Grants (ICG) Program provides funds to facilitate the development of collaborations at Binghamton University. This program is for investigators who seek to enhance their research opportunities through collaboration and may include projects that represent a new research agenda. Proposals from all areas of scholarship are encouraged. Funds may be requested for a wide range of interdisciplinary collaborative activities such as creative and artistic projects appropriate to the fine arts, traditional scholarly endeavors in the humanities and social sciences, and science and engineering projects. Proposals that involve faculty from more than one department are strongly encouraged, as are proposals from the humanities and social sciences. Transdisciplinary Areas of Excellence Seed Grant Letter of Intent due: Dec. 6, 2021; Full proposal due (all TAEs): Feb. 1, 2022$3000-15000+1 yearThe Transdisciplinary Areas of Excellence Seed Grant Program provides one year of initial support for collaborative research projects with the potential to attract external funding, create new partnerships and develop innovative scholarship or creative activities. Faculty teams are invited to submit proposals to one of the six TAEs, where they will be evaluated by an interdisciplinary panel of experts (for more on TAEs and selection criteria, see below). Projects funded by this grant employ diverse methods and bodies of knowledge to address a central problem. They develop novel methods, apply theories or methods to new substantive areas or translate among previously unrelated theoretical perspectives. As a seed grant, supported projects are expected to lead to new scholarly or creative activities and additional proposals for external support; this program is not a bridge fund. It should not be used to support research in lieu of external grant funds or to recruit new students.https://www.binghamton.edu/transdisciplinary-areas-of-excellence/eligibility-requirements.html

See link for more information.1 semester or up to 1 year. The Dr. Nuala McGann Drescher Diversity and Inclusion Leave Program enhances employment opportunities for employees who are preparing for continuing appointment (academic employees) or permanent appointment (professional employees). Established under the Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Committee, this Program seeks to promote diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity in SUNY’s workforce. Preference is given to employees who demonstrate they are under-represented in their department, unit, program or school on the basis of their protected class status, including but not limited, to age, race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, military or veteran status, disability, gender expression and gender identity. In addition, this Program also seeks to promote diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity for specific employees in a department, unit, program or school if the employee and the campus can demonstrate that the employee is under-represented in a specific department, unit, program or school. The types of support available from the NYS/UUP Joint Labor-Management Committees include salary for a replacement for the duration of the employee’s leave, and other related expenses for research or study as determined by the review committee. In addition, the campus will continue paying the employee’s regular salary for the duration of the leave.https://goer.ny.gov/system/files/documents/2020/03/dr.-nuala-mcgann-drescher-leave-program-guidelines.pdf

SUNY Technology Accelerator Fund (“TAF”) The deadline to submit TAF Class of 2022 proposals for consideration is April 15, 2022. Each SUNY
campus may submit a maximum of two proposals for consideration. Proposals must be submitted only by
the campus RF Operations Manager or designee.
Up to $50,000The SUNY Technology Accelerator Fund (“TAF”) provides funding to support the advancement of SUNY innovations from the lab to the marketplace. Since its launch in 2011, TAF has successfully advanced the commercial readiness of 57 SUNY innovations. In most cases, SUNY innovations developed through sponsored research lack critical proof-of-concept data that is needed to attract investment by potential licensees or investors. TAF support targets the critical milestones needed to demonstrate that an innovation is worthy of external investment. The aim is to identify opportunities where small investments will provide significant impacts on making SUNY innovations available to the public. Different from fundamental research, TAF investments support proof-of-concept and technology development projects to validate the commercial feasibility of SUNY technology. TAF’s goal is to facilitate the translation of SUNY technology into marketable products and/or services by enhancing strategic academic-industry partnerships and building new entrepreneurial ventures. https://www.binghamton.edu/research/innovation/resources/fundingopportunities.html
