Outlook's focused inbox is coming to desktop and Web apps. Power Point presentations no longer need to be linear, working more like a website, with a home slide for instance. |t||Google rolled out an update to Nexus and AndroidOne devices to help block spam calls. For devices with caller ID enabled (otherwise know as everyone), suspicious calls will come up marked in red with the label "suspected spam caller." From there, users can confirm that the number should be blocked, or report it to a white list if Google tagged it improperly. Users can also go back into their call log to designate spam numbers. Steve Dent at Engadget notes that the Samsung's Galaxy S7 has had a similar feature since launch, in partnership with Whitepages. --- Google has also begun updating Android with Emergency Location Service. It uses WiFI, cellular, and GPS to share location when on a 999 emergency call. EE, BT, Three, Vodafone and O2 are all on board at launch. It's available in the UK and Estonia at launch with Google working with more countires and operators for future expansion.||https://www.engadget.com/2016/07/26/google-updates-nexus-phones-with-spam-call-protection/|

How, you ask? As for most things these days, the answer lies in the amazing properties of... THE CLOUD!
The service is still in alpha, but if you have fast enough Internet-- a fiber connection is required-- you can subscribe to a reliable, customizeable and upgradable "PC rental" which you can access over the Internet.
The rental is hosted on servers in the company's data centers, behaves like a regular PC, and its video is streamed with 16ms lag to the client.
Journalists who have tried the service went from "skeptical" to "optimistic"... Has the time of the thin client finaly come?

|Eurogamer reports sources tell it the Nintendo NX will be a “high-powered” portable device running on a successor to Nvidia’s Tegra X1 mobile chip, with its own built-in display and two detachable controller sections. A dock will allow it to be used with a TV and it will supposedly use cartridges for games to supplement downloads.||http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-07-26-nx-is-a-portable-console-with-detachable-controllers|
- Nintendo is playing to its mobile strength (home market locked up)
- No backward compatibility
- A Nintendo OS, not Android
- Physical media is still important (and stores give exposure)
|The questions we want to ask:|
- How powerful is that Tegra?
- Does the UI look different on portable and on TV?
- 32 GB seems small (ish)
- The detached controllers look... strange?
- There seems to be many Wii U ports?

|Regarding our discussions of Pepper the Robot yesterday, Kimberly (Texas Teacher) writes:|
Veronica asked why have a voice input if you already have a touch screen. Accessibility would be my answer. The most obvious would be having both to accommodate both visually impaired and hearing impaired customer. But some others would be
- Touch input for those with speech difficulties ...
-For visual displays I would love for there to be some control by the user. My family has both dyslexic and color blind people. Sometimes one or other can't read a display on a public screen because of "cute" color/font choices. Recently my cousins were at a tourist spot. Their 6 yo had to tell them that words were flashing on a screen giving directions about where to go to get tickets. The husband is color blind, the wife dyslexic. The words looked like abstract art or a screwed up screen to them. The 6 yo couldn't read fast enough to get all the information.
- voice input for those with mobility or fine motor skill difficulties. I have problems with some touch screens. I have a skin disorder that makes my skin dry, and brittle. This means sometimes the screen doesn't pick up on my touch or I can't feel how hard to press. I also have contact allergies to peanuts. This means I have to be careful touching surfaces in public, ...
