I would have prefered to stay in Calgary to limit flying risk, complications and the additional cost barriers associated with travelling. That being said, I was informed that I could not access top surgery in the Province that I could get it publically funded. {Please note: I have been on the waitlist for public funding for nearly two years and have yet to have a consult, it can take up to 5 years and there was no information on waitlist times available leading me to eventually take the private route and ask for community support}.
