Who Am I?I am a resident of South Minneapolis and I am active in the local communities. For privacy and safety reasons, I would prefer to keep details about myself relatively scant.

Why should we trust you?Great question! And for better or for worse, very relevant these days. And my answer is, you don't have to! I purposely made this spreadsheet with as many references as possible so you can double check yourself.

Why are organizations that support areas other than South Minneapolis on here? I thought everything is taking place in South Minneapolis.George Floyd's murder and most of the protests have indeed been in South Minneapolis. However, other parts of the Twin Cities also have a high non-white population (and as a result experience police brutality), low income, and have been hit hard by the pandemic and historic injustices.

Why did you include businesses?I included businesses several organizations that support businesses for several reasons. First, we need our local businesses to be healthy too! They provide employment, economic growth, opportunity, and community. Second, these businesses are all providing support to other businesses, and/or the community. Third, if we want systemic change, a key component will be economic opportunity for Black entrepreneurs and business owners who traditionally and presently are often times excluded from these activites. Yes, relief for right now is important. And, positioning the Black community for positive long term growth and stability is important too.
