Lang’s General Degree Requirements
In addition to the requirements outlined in the worksheet below, Lang has specific general requirements, including a minimum number of credits in liberal arts courses as well as college residency requirements. All students should read Lang’s General Degree Requirements at the Lang website and consult with both their Student Success advisor and their Departmental Faculty Advisor each semester to ensure they are on track to graduate.
4
Double Majors: The senior capstone may be either a joint project or the senior seminar from one of the degree programs, with the approval of the departmental faculty advisors of both programs. No more than three courses can be applied toward both majors, in addition to the senior capstone. Visit Lang's website for more information about fulfilling these requirements. Students interested in a double major should consult with their Student Success advisor as well as the departmental faculty advisors in both programs to find out whether completing the two majors, even with double counting of three courses, would significantly increase the length of time they would need to graduate.
5
Double Minors and Major-Minors: Similarly, students can complete two minors, where offered, by fulfilling all the requirements for both minor programs. Since a minor requires fewer courses in total, no more than one course may be applied toward both minors (or to a major-minor combination). Visit Lang's website for more information about fulfilling these requirements.

Degree Works
To be sure your Degree Works account reflects the same information in this worksheet, students should forward any approved exceptions of the following requirements to their Student Success advisor.

THE MAJOR IN INTERDISCIPLINARY SCIENCE
8
As of fall 2020, students declaring the major in Interdisciplinary Science must take twelve (12) courses, outlined as follows. Students must earn a grade of C or higher in all courses to meet the requirements for the major in Interdisciplinary Science. Students who have declared the major in Interdisciplinary Science prior to fall 2020 but wish to follow the fall 2020 curriculum may consult their Student Success Advisor about submitting a Change of Catalog Year request.

DECLARE YOUR MAJOR
by following the process outlined in Declaring a Major. Students declare their major at various points, but we recommend that when you declare, you:
• review the sample course menu (click on the "
Sample IS Major Course Menu" tab at the bottom of this sheet)
9
• submit a Major/Minor Declaration Statement. See the top of this worksheet for instructions on how to save and share your Major/Minor Statement.

• and schedule an advising appointment with the Departmental Faculty Advisor of the Interdisciplinary Science Program so that advising can
be personalized and appropriate to your interests and post-graduate plans.
10
Only specific courses satisfy the major requirements, including electives. Not all courses are offered every semester. Courses should be chosen carefully, in consultation with the Director of Undergraduate Studies/Departmental Faculty Advisor and your Student Success advisor. Track your progress on a copy of this worksheet and find helpful information at the IS Advising and Resources web page about:
• Identifying and selecting classes
• Funding research and internship opportunities for IS students
• Training programs, conferences, and resources related to graduate school
• IS job opportunities
• IS study abroad opportunities
• Professional societies
• Conferences and journals
