FF's 'References Wanted' Room Bill Hooker, Graham SteelA room to document the harm caused by closed/toll-access publication by collecting hard data to answer the frequent anti-OA attack "everyone has all the access they need already". Post here citations to journal articles you'd like to read/need for your work, but can't get without paying a fee. (Can't wait until we get hit with our first lawsuit!)http://friendfeed.com/rooms/references-wanted

Quick CID to CAS lookup by Rajarshi GuhaHari JayaramI wanted to lookup CAS ids for a few arginine homologs on pubchem and was wondering if I could convert CIDs to CASids on twitter- a little later Rajarshi Guha probably coded up the conversion and exposed it as a HTTP ("REST"y )service and commented the URL in friendfeed. As a result I could use pubchem for substructure query and then use Rajarshis webservice for CAS id lookup and finally look for molecules in vendor catalogs http://rguha.wordpress.com/2008/12/12/getting-a-cas-number-from-a-pubchem-cid/http://friendfeed.com/search?q=CAS+to+CID

Interactive visualization of ONS solubility data on browser and Second LifeRajarshi Guha, Andy Lang, Jean-Claude BradleyRajarshi created some web services to do PCA 2D plots (using Google Viz API and Google Spreadsheets) - Andy took that a step further showing summarization of the data then linking to the plots. Discussing implications for Second Life and how to access molecular descriptors on CDK - (links to even more interactive viz pending in next few days)http://friendfeed.com/e/38e6ac87-d091-40ef-9d8e-7fbbdd3f3a92/The-ONS-Challenge-Visualizing-Chemical/http://friendfeed.com/e/97bb05a9-abe3-4e1a-8471-0af381508679/REST-PCA-Google-Chart-Solubility-Data/
