I learned of the workshop through facebook ad. I have been following you for some time on facebook, your website and TED Talks.
I expect to learn some best practices on using a 3d printer. I am very interested on how you derived this particular design. on a side note I would love to see the other projects you are involved in.
I am currently designing the first truly open source manufacturable sewing machine that can be adapted to combine sewing with plastic printing, lazer cutter and wearable electronics. I am interested in your components as a possible design for parts of my machine. I am glad to see you are using very ubiquitous mass produced parts like the RAMPS controller. I am looking forward to learning from this experience and a possibility of limited collaboration. I currently work as a nurse but in a past life I spent 15 years as a systems programmer in mainly industrial applications. Several of those years were spend in machine command and control. I loved the work and want my life to return to that kind of creativity.

GVCS got posted on boingboing a whiiiiile ago, more recently I backed the Kickstarter at "tractor workshop" level and saw the 3D printer one in an update
Learning to use Libre CAD tooling, leaving with a working printer :P/
Generally setting expectations for tractor workshop later, determining whether the hardware side of things is something I actually enjoy or if I just want to do it because it sounds cool. Stretch goal joining the project irl if my SF startup job falls through, though I don't expect a solid no from this one-day workshop, and will otherwise hold off explicitly asking until we know how the week-long one in August works out :3
It would be nice to emphasize "we're going to try to coordinate transportation to/from the airport" on the event page more, I just booked a rental along with my flight after seeing "you'll need a car, no transportation will be provided, we're in the middle of nowhere so don't expect a bus" etc.

Arrive: Friday (Apr 28); Depart: Sunday/Monday
No need for transport, I'm driving there.
I'd like to spend at least one night in the dorm space, but I'll bring camping gear as well.
I wasn't aware of this option, and wouldn't mind helping out on Sunday.
Not really, but I prefer to know where my food has been.
I will be emailing a signed copy
I first heard about the workshop through the OSE Workshops FB group. I have been wanting to build a 3D printer. But I'm more interested to visit Factor e Farm to meet the organizers and workshop participants.
I want to understand the merits and challenges of OSE's particular adaptation of Extreme Manufacturing techniques in a small workshop context. I'll be observing the workshop structure with an eye towards replication of OSE's Distributive Enterprise model.
I'll arrive Friday afternoon/evening (Apr 28) and can either stay in the HabLab if there is space, camp, or stay at a nearby motel/hotel. I'd like to help out on Sunday if that's a possibility, to have a chance to connect with OSE outside of the workshop context and talk more about replication of the OSE DE model. I'll head out either Sunday or Monday morning at the latest. Looking forward to it!

I don't remember where I first saw this workshop, but I first heard about OSE on The Survival Podcast by Jack Spirko. Since then, I have been watching your workshops and looking for one that both interests me and works with my schedule.

I am also interested in the CEB Press and Aquaponics Greenhouse and hope to be able to attend one or both of those one day.
I hope to learn how to build bigger versions of this 3D Printer and hope that you are able to design tools to create your own filament from recycled plastics. I really like the idea of possibly making plastic lumber for building other structures.
I am new to 3D printing, so I am hoping this won't be beyond me. Part of my desire to come to the workshops is to support what you are doing.

Hope to broaden my skills and understand the process behind how to build things quickly. I am also hoping to gain a deeper understanding of 3d printing. I am hoping to meet both Marcin and Catarina as I feel they have a great mission.

Why join: I want to experience extreme manufacturing, and experience the associated curriculum / documentation as the end user, and later print parts for the CNC torch table and mill, and prepare for the CNC torch table on a smaller scale and with cheaper materials, and hopefully meet some cool people.
How to assemble the machines, render/model in 3D (intro), convert common 3D files, scan 3D (or references), select filament (different properties for different applications), troubleshoot printing, source replacement parts fro 3D printer, legitimately get around creative commons on Thingiverse (or other sources), get free designs...

I learned about OSE from my professor of social enterprise at Tulane, Josh Schoop. I have followed Marcin on youtube since then. I saw a pitch for the workshop on youtube and I have flexibility in my schedule (unemployed) so I decided to drive up.
I'm excited for the opportunity to be a fly on the wall for OSE programming, to be able to see how this model of societal development works in action and to be an active participant in leveraging adaptive technology to address ecological, social and economic issues of today. Furthermore, I'm incredibly excited to get hands on experience with 3D printing and learn how to bring access to this incredible technology back to my community.

My girlfriend sent me a link. Interested in several things: 1) Meeting other people interested in doing this sort of stuff and learning from/with them 2) learning more about how the 3d printer is designed 3) potential for holding workshops of my own later and/or building other things from what I learn here 4) getting involved in a community that is helping with practical life challenges 5) I'm interested in learning about how to manage and design for such an open source type of project
I have some 3d printing and CNC milling experience already, but I'd like to learn enough to be able to build/design my own CNC machine later; maybe things like process, in addition to just technical things. I'd also like to learn about how to expand these workshops into the Bay Area. I think the Bay Area would be a great place as many people here are interested in this sort of thing. I'm interested in learning about OSE and whether I'd be interested in the commitment to join the developer program.

I have come from a manufacturing town in Flint but went to school and ended up working in Brooklyn. Have a huge affinity for the retooling of industry to benefit the people who make it work. Looking to continue tying open source tech and energy democracy into a vertical business model.
Im interested in learning how to make this 3d printer broader and expand into industrial outputs such as concrete molds, car parts, aquaponic plumbing etc.
I am really looking forward to meeting new minds that understand that we come from abundance and if we continue to work toward making that world accessible then we are doing what is necessary.

I have been following OSE for some time now. I admire Marcin and the team's vision, and the way they are going about achieving it. I saw a post on facebook advertising the course, and as I am in the process of starting up a small farm / eventual intentional community / learning centre / hub of ecological experimentation, it seemed like a great opportunity to learn, connect and support an excellent cause.
I look forward to learning the basics of some skills (CAD, welding, hydraulics, general fabrication), and gaining the confidence to approach design and fabrication of equipment back at home base. I am equally interested in experiencing the OSE / factor farm environment, learning more about OSE's critical path, goals setting process, project management etc. I am also looking forward to learning from the other workshop attendees. Oftentimes on similar course/workshops my perspective and worldview is blown open from all of the interactions with people from different paths, but sharing similar goals, ethics, values etc.
Looking forward to the course, thank you for offering it!
