First Adi-Andhra Mahajana SabhaStruggles/Movements/ResolutionsnoMentioned in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guduru_Venkatachalam. Note: Adi Andhra redirects to article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adi_Dravida. But there were several significant "Adi" (original/aboriginal/indigenous) anti-caste , anti-aryanism , anti-brahminism movements in Andhra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Punjab. I think its a good idea to address each movement with an article or do an Adi Movements articleNo

Periyar article has Anti-Brahminism, Dalit history categoriesAS: Vee, I presume there's no link to the Tamil conferences held on the language, or is that a place to improve too? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Tamil_Conference. Temple Entry BillStruggles/Movements/ResolutionsNoReferenced in P. Subbarayan's article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P._Subbarayan and could possibly be referenced in this Temple Entry Proclamation article for Kerala: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_Entry_ProclamationThere is no reference to Dr. Ambedkar's refusal to support the Temple Entry Bill in the Subbarayan article, and no categories linked to caste legislation (as there is in the Temple Entry proclamation for Kerala). But any additional text needs references, and the listing of reasons for Dr. Ambedkar's lack of support (the DHM content does not list the reasons either). Image in second article does not relate to Dalit history. Referenced in P. Subbarayan's article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P._Subbarayan and could possibly be referenced in this Temple Entry Proclamation article for Kerala: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_Entry_ProclamationNo Dalit categories in the Subbarayan article, and "Indian Caste Legislation" in the Temple Entry Proclamation article.AS: Because the Temple Entry Bill spurred a series of Temple Entry proclamations across India in the 1930s, it might be worth a separate article that lists the original bill, its reasoning and the opposition by Dr. Ambedkar. Then it can also link to some of the other articles of INC politicians and others who led Temple Entry moves in their regions, like Tamil Nadu or Kerala. Depends on the importance for the Dalit scholars/community on this issue. What do you think, VK? MZM: Honestly this is contested within the Dalit community as well. I would leave it out for this round of edits and maybe if we know someone with a clear understanding of it down the line draw them in Yes

Could be referenced in either or both of these articles: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B._R._Ambedkar and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W._E._B._Du_BoisAS: while the Ambedkar and Du Bois article could definitely be expanded with mention of the correspondence, I am wondering if there is need - and priority - for a detailed, well-researched article on the connections between caste and race, while also recognising why the resonance should not be overblown either. But looking at the histories of correspondence like this, the Panthers, the WCAR in Durban, more recent events... I think this might be a really important new article, but will need to be worked on with significant scholarship. VK, your thoughts? MZM: Definitely need that article. Highlighted for working on Yes

""Date of Birth : Year 1377 A.D.(Magh Sudi 15,

Birth place : Seer Goverdhanpur, Banaras

Name of father : Shri Santokh Dass
Name of mother : Shrimati Kalsi Devi
Name of grandfather : Shri Kalu Ram
Name of grandmother : Shrimati Lakhpati
Name of wife : Shrimati Lona
Name of son : Shri Vijay Dass

This is the details accepted by most not what is written on Wikipedia. I don’t know how Wikipedia works and I don’t spend much time on it editing maybe put these above information in dispute section, if there is anything like that on Wikipedia with the argument that this above details about name of his parents and age is according to Ravidassia religion and religious books and if Jesus’s parents name and DOB is taken from Bible then ravidas’ details should also be taken from the religious books of Ravidassia religion.

It’s written at present on Wikipedia that -- His parents belonged to a leather-working Chamar community, whose profession involved processing dead animals and their skins, which made them untouchable.

It brings back the whole discussion on caste system and the one’s caste is decided based on birth not on work. How many Brahmins involved in menial jobs ever became untouchables?

Further on Wikipedia it is written that - While his original occupation was leather work, he began to spend most of his time in spiritual pursuits as a Vaishnava Hindu in the Ramananda tradition.

Again wrong, he didn’t follow Vaishnaya Hindu, he worshipped Formless God and in Vaishnaya Hindu they do Idol worship and that makes all the difference. I am sending you 2 pdf files, research papers, which you will need to read and you will find more information about it. (Specifically, page 35 of Guru Ravidas, Prophet of Dalit Liberation paper)

Further Wikipedia -- Thereafter he spent most of his life in the company of Hindu saints, sadhus and ascetics.--

Again wrong, he lived and worked among Dalit/lower caste saints such as Kabir, Namdev, and Jaidev etc. None of them was Hindu sadhus or ascetics. Kabir, Namdev were married and weren’t sadhus or ascetics. "" - See attached documents in drive
"
Copy editing needed.Does mention his Chamar (Dalit caste ) origins in the first para, Pardeep Singh himself, or people he recommends would be able to provide sources for this article . Some of the categories is " Vaishnava Saints" "Hindu leaders" etc would be contested by Ravidassias. It should atleast reflect as being contested. Needs Dalit based categories addition "Ravidassia religion is a spin off religion from Sikhism," this language is not good. Needs a better poltical perspective. -VYes see DHM Drive file
