We are seeking a responsible assistant graphic designer/administrative assistant to perform a variety of administrative and graphic design tasks. General duties include editing digital property brochures, assisting in daily office needs and managing our company’s general administrative activities. To be successful in this position, you’ll need to be a self-starter, polite and professional, and excited to learn.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Design and edit property brochures, monthly catalogs, and other communication materials.
• Create these materials using Adobe’s Create Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
• Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed.
• Handle office tasks, such as filing and reordering supplies.
• Answer phone calls and route callers to the appropriate party.
• Maintain polite and professional communication via phone and e-mail.
• Photocopy and print out documents on behalf of other colleagues.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in or previously completed a graphic design course.
• Excellent computer skills and previous exposure to Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
• Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail.

Approximate duration: 8-12 weeks

Position open until filled

Compensation: The internship is unpaid; however, a paid position may be offered based on the contribution, work ethic, and overall performance of the participant.

2/15/2019Nucor Technical AcademyThe Nucor Technical Academy is a technical training program designed to teach maintenance fundamentals and to bring a person with a high school diploma to the level of a maintenance electrician within a three year training period. The training program is a compilation of culture, ideas and current training programs that exist throughout Nucor. This training provides the necessary classroom theory and includes structured hands-on training to ensure the person is prepared to enter the workforce as a Maintenance Electrician. The duties will require hands-on assignments working with the experienced Nucor maintenance team members.

*Note: The Nucor Technical Academy is located and administered at Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa, Inc. in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Selected candidates will relocate to Tuscaloosa during fall and spring semesters. Selected candidates shall participate in on-the-job training at their sponsoring Nucor Division during Winter and Summer breaks.

The Secret Service Student Volunteer Service Program is designed to provide students with an understanding of the nature and the structure of the U.S. Secret Service. The program provides unpaid, academic-related work assignments that allow students to explore career options while developing personal and professional skills. Participants must be currently enrolled in school and are expected to volunteer a minimum of 12 hours per week for at least one semester, two quarters or summer session.
