In general, mobility means moving around, so when we discuss economic mobility, we are imagining people moving up and down the income distribution.

It's great when low-income children grow up to be successful, wealthy adults. This is called intergenerational mobility.

This Excel workbook is completely self-contained and all you have to do is read (scrolling down as needed), follow instructions (especially obey the CLICK commands), and pay close attention.

You need Microsoft EXCEL, WINDOWS DESKTOP version 2007 or greater to get full functionality from this file.

The file can be opened with Mac Excel, but it uses Visual Basic code that may not be fully supported on a Mac.

This file will NOT work with a browser-version of Excel because it contains macros. You must open it with a DESKTOP-version of Excel.

You must be sure to Enable Content or the buttons and code in this macro-enabled workbook will not work.
