| The Hot-Headed Lone Wolf
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Seven (she/her) is a mercenary I’ve hired after chasing Quinn to Mara. She’s kind of an asshole, though I suppose some people who work with her would call her a “lovable asshole.” I don’t know if that’s what I’d call her, but to each their own.
| KEY IDEAS | BIOGRAPHY | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| • Lone Wolf | • Fiery | • Tsundere! :D
| • Brawler | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| • Self-Sufficient | • Off-Tank | “When you have nothing to lose, you’ll accept every fistfight life throws your way.” | (After reading this line, Ji-hye smacks Captain Robin Steele upside the head with a low growl. “What the hell did you say about me?” Steele groans and touches the fresh bruise behind one of their fluffy feline ears. “Ow! Is that any way to treat your captain?” “You’re no captain of mine. You’re just the ‘lovable asshole’ that pays me.” “You’re the one who asked to read my journal.”
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Ji-hye was abandoned as an infant at a human orphanage on Mara, then cast out on her seventh birthday. A pair of perky dog ears and a fluffy black and red tail suddenly appeared, and the orphanage’s religious supervisors saw her as nothing more than a cursed beast. Her “family” soon tossed her aside.
| “Yeah, cuz I knew you’d write shit like this.” Steele huffs, then crosses their arms and pouts. “Those were my initial impressions of you. I’d be happy to let you read the rest of the journal, including my entries on the others, as long as you promise to stop resorting to physical harm when you disagree with me.” “Sure. Sounds fair.” “I’m not joking, drongo. Don’t hit me again.” “You got it, Kitty.” “That’s Captain to—” “Oh, shut up.”)
| WEAPONS AND EQUIPMENT | Using her unusual strength, overflowing willpower, and sheer determination, Ji-hye clawed her way into a refugee camp for outcasts, monsters, and failures like herself. She learned to harden her heart and resolve by fighting other refugees and going off on dangerous solo missions so she wouldn’t be betrayed again. She still hopes to find someone who can accept every part of her unconditionally. Eventually, she is recruited by Robin Steele — as a one-time merc and nothing more, she swears. Once she’s done with this mission, she’ll move on, the same as always.
| Primarily an unarmed brawler. During either of her bul-gae modes, she fights with her claws and can breathe/control fire and ice (i.e., the sun and moon she chases as a bul-gae). Gains access to consistent elemental damage after receiving Lee’s gift of Mythril Gloves. Wears light armor and can use all bangle, earring, and ring accessories.

| She’s a bul-gae, a fire dog who endlessly chases the sun and moon. When angered, her brown eyes change into a deep red and her claws become more pronounced. She can achieve a full bul-gae mode where she morphs into a giant fire dog. However, she loses control while fighting like this and cannot be calmed down unless she is knocked out. | So far, she’s proven more than competent enough to help me on my mission to track down the treasures that my mother hid in caches across the galaxy. To be honest, I hired her because I figured that old saying of dogs having a keen sense of smell had to have some merit to it. Trusting a dog to pick up old, stale, nasty-smelling trails seemed like a safe bet. (At this, Ji-hye raises a clawed hand to smack Steele again, but they scurry out of the way using their lightning-quick speed. “You’re more mouse than cat!” Ji-hye calls after them.) Is that even how the scent of trails works? Trails go cold, but do they also end up smelling like mold and mildew? I’ve never tried to smell a trail, now that I think about it.

| PLAYSTYLE NOTES | PERSONALITY TRAITS AND VOICE NOTES | I suppose that’s beside the point. I’d prefer not to be on the sharp end of any of her claws, especially after that damned Lee gave her those Mythril Gloves. Luckily, her new elemental powers are a plus for the Atlas crew. Despite that, Seven does seem to prefer her fire abilities, though I imagine that’s no shocker, seeing as her ears and tails are perpetually on fire. I do wonder what would happen if someone were to dump a bucket of cold water on her. Still, Seven does have some command over ice and water, so she’d probably just turn into a humanoid ice cube on purpose and…I don’t know, stab me with a thousand icicle spears or something. (“Finally, a bright idea from this kid.” “That’s Captain to you!”)
| Confident and aggressive posture. Her bul-gae mode, where she takes on more dog-like appearances, turns her into a huge blazing fire dog that only listens to its instincts. Self-sufficient off-tank unit. Strong offensive abilities with an above-average HP pool and has access to double-edged sword techniques. Primarily multitarget attacks, bleed debuffs, and self-buff/healing. Does not provide many team-based skills. Ji-hye works best in a team composition that focuses on maximizing her damage output. | Chaotic dumbass, straightforward/one-track-minded, impulsive, loyal when she thinks it’s deserved.
| Her voice is low with a slightly husky quality. When Ji-hye gets pissed off, her voice gets rougher and raspier.
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Ji-hye uses short and concise sentences because she wants to get to the point. She’s impatient and gets mad easily, so sharp tones/words and thoughtful exclamation points would fit her dialogue well. She’s also quick to embarrassment around people she likes and respects (a list that’s rather short). When she transforms into her full bul-gae mode, she usees fewer words and lets out more feral noises, like grunts, growls, and roars. | I can’t help but feel that we’ve bitten off more than we can chew with this hire. Putting aside her rather violent disposition, Seven’s got a strange duo of women after her. Lee, a dragonkind descendant, is a clever tactician who’s got the entirety of Quinn’s crew behind her. Kurogane, that damn mercenary tailing me back on Nox Alpha, is a oni warrior who loves setting traps for her enemies, and she seems to take pride in the sorts of emotional and psychological damage she can inflict on people. Speaking of emotions, Seven has a fascinating attraction to Kurogane, and I believe that Kurogane reciprocates in kind. I wonder if they’re really rivals or if they actually lo[...]
