LogisticsWhat are the staffing levels needed for school nurses?I may be misinterpretting this question. The Weighted Staffing Standards document linked here discusses allocating staff and services based on enrollment and other demographic factors. If the question is about how a school is budgeted for RNs/counselors by the Superintendent and how they arrive at the allocation, this document would work... I'll wait for clarification before I dig down too deep into the doc to clarify. an answer.https://www.seattleschools.org/UserFiles/Servers/Server_543/File/District/Departments/Budget/2020%20Budget%20Development/schl_allocations_20ADA.pdfGoogle It!Peggy Dolane - peggy.dolane@gmail.commel spikerSchools are allocated staff and discretionary budget in February each year upon which to build their budget for the following year. These allocations are based on enrollment projections provided by Enrollment Planning, applied to the Weighted Staffing Standards (WSS) model. These allocations are collectively published as the "2019-2020 Schools' Funding Allocations" document.. This document is >200 pages and goes into great depth and detail with regard to modeling and formulas used to come up with the weighted staffing ...

What are the staffing levels needed for school counselors?Alki PTA General Meeting Minutes May2016 https://www.seattleschools.org/UserFiles/Servers/Server_543/File/District/Departments/Budget/2020%20Budget%20Development/schl_allocations_20ADA.pdfGoogle It!Peggy Dolane - peggy.dolane@gmail.commel spikerAlocation of .5 counselors at K-5 schools is not based upon staffing levels rather it is based on meeting at least one of 3 criteria (found on page 5 of the linked source.) Alki ES has not met any of the 3 criteria since first implemented for the 2016/2017 school year. Alki ES is not predicted to ever meet any of the criteria (unless criteria changes) and is 100% dependent upon PTA dollars in order to keep our .5 counselor. This funding has been proposed and voted on by PTA membership every PTA budget cycle since 2016.
