Furthermore, as a dedicated public servant for the City of San Francisco, it also excites me that I can utilize my expertise in debt finance and capital planning to serve the students, parents, faculty, and tax payers of San Francisco. Although I currently do not have any children nor am I an SFUSD parent, I have full intention of enrolling my future children in the SFUSD.

In my current capacity as Finance Manager of the Treasure Island Development Authority (TIDA) with the City & County of San Francisco, I oversee the financial operations, capital planning, and debt program for TIDA. I currently manage a $30M annual operations budget, projected $1.18B Infrastructure Revitalization Financing District (IRFD), and $2.5B Community Facilities District (CFD), supporting development of up to 8,000 homes; new streets, utility infrastructure, geotechnical improvements, and open space; over 500,000 square feet of retail and office space; and 300 acres of new parks.

Prior to my work with TIDA, I recently served as Deputy Director of the San Francisco Controller's Office of Public Finance, which is responsible for issuing and managing the City's $20+ billion general fund debt portfolio, including approximately $5 billion in General Obligation bonds. As a representative of the Controller, I've previously staffed the City's GOBOC, which is a very similar oversight board to CBOC that requires knowledge of G.O. ballot procedures, eligibility of G.O. bond proceeds, and other state/SEC regulations related to public debt. Most of all, the Controller's fiduciary responsibility over the City's finances, I have a strong understanding and appreciation for the importance of government spending oversight and prudent financial planning.		As I aim to do with all projects I work on, I'm excited to learn about SFUSD's goals and objectives related to capital planning, infrastructure investment, and bond issuances/debt programs to ensure all General Obligations bonds issued by the SFUSD are in line with its goals and financial plans. I also hope to learn about the challenges SFUSD may face as it balances a finite amount of public resources/funds with competing needs to invest in its infrastructure.

As a member of CBOC, I hope to contribute my knowledge, expertise, and enthusiasm for public finance to ensure the timely, accurate, and transparent reporting of G.O. bond expenditures to SF tax payers and the general public.

As a member of CBOC, along with other members of CBOC and SFUSD staff, I also hope to accomplish the requirements of State Proposition 39 and other local requirements and fulfill the purpose of the CBOC. I hope to meet frequently and have active discussions with other members and staff to create a high standard of spending oversight that meets or exceeds the expectations of the general public and concerned citizens interested in public education investment. Through the CBOC's review, the goal is to ensure SFUSD accurately spends its bond proceeds and provides transparency to the public.

I am a member of IFPTE Local 21 and a longtime member of the SF Bicycle Coalition. I have organized numerous bike & roll to school days at my kids' schools and successfully requested racks and accommodations on behalf of biking families. I have also volunteered for environmental organizations including Climate Action Now and the Surfrider Foundation.Regarding qualifications, my understanding is that SFUSD may continue to explore affordable housing, and I have direct experience living in affordable housing and serving on both the tenants' board and the board of the affordable housing developer as the residents' representative. I have managed facility improvements projects in affordable housing, and renovation of recording studio and classroom spaces at a community youth center where I was the assistant director. In San Francisco, as the executive director of SOMArts Cultural Center, I assisted the communities who used the facility to attain the high-quality classroom and event space they deserved, leveraging capital resources from the City for HVAC and environmental upgrades as well as a partnership with the San Francisco Arts Institute and federal grants to pay for classroom renovations. In my current professional role at the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, I evaluate nonprofit facilities acquisitions and renovations and provide assistance to community coalitions such as the group of organizations who purchased the Mission Resource Hub.

Recently, I served on the City's review panel to assess proposals for funding to build new affordable housing at nine sites throughout the city. This included evaluating the overall project financing, community engagement, service delivery and cost containment strategies.

As a former nonprofit executive director, I have experience conducting audits and as the City's nonprofit sector expert, I have experience reviewing audits and assisting organizations to address audit findings and mitigate risk.

In addition to technical experience with facilities and finance, I highly value the role of communication and community accessibility within any oversight process. I have co-led advocacy, participatory budgeting and procurement initiatives to bring racially diverse people and groups together across differences to build resources and set priorities. I was on the Glen Park Elementary PTO executive committee as the communication co-chair for three years. I am still active in the PTO and as a volunteer at the school. Glen Park has a very diverse student community focused on equity and excellence for all children. Our PTO works hard to ensure that we rise the tide for all children and focus our efforts and our spending on the most vulnerable members of our community.

In addition to my work with my children's school, I am involved in fund raising for the Homeless Prenatal Program, as I have been since 2015. I also mentor young law students, am on the Dispute Resolution Committee for our San Francisco community garden, and volunteer as an assistant soccer referee.

I lead the legal function and partner with the rest of the executive team to ensure that we are responsibly growing our company and caring for our workforce. As a corporate leader, I am responsible for my team's budget, and I work with the rest of the leadership team on company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and planning efforts. As a senior lawyer, I am well-versed in legal obligations and administrative requirements.
