The main hands-on activities will involve constructing and launching film canister rockets, as well as paper rockets.

Participants will construct film canister rockets powered by the pressure generated by an effervescent tablet reacting with water. Additionally, they will use laser-cut templates to construct their own paper rockets, which will be powered by a model rocket engine. At the end of the session, participants will have the opportunity to launch both types of rockets.

In this session you will collaborate with a secondary teacher to create a digital exemplar to support student evidence requirements for the new Level 1 NCEA Standards.
Year 7 to 10 teachers
Students who have grown up developing their Cybersmart learning at primary school and in years 9 and 10 are well placed to take advantage of the new assessment formats. A valuable opportuntity for Year 7-8 teachers to connect and align with secondary to empower their learners as they transition.
