Purpose of this document
9
The CDM Technical Specification represents an overarching physical implementation of the Canonical Data Model and has been created as a proof of concept for the CDM as a whole. The CDM Technical Specification incorporates various existing data sets and includes common structures, data items and national code lists. This document will evolve so that it eventually includes the relevant data items and structures to support all existing data sets, as well as future requirements. The CDM Technical Specification will also be updated to reflect a physical implementation of the logical CDM as this is developed.
