NOTE: We are unable to fund student stipends/salaries, computers/tablets, or retroactive projects. We will consider funding software, equipment, and travel requests on a case-by-case basis. Receipts may be required. Computer software may only be supported if it is not currently provided through Campus Computing Sites or the Knox Center. Equipment will remain University Library property and must be returned following the experience. Travel requests must adhere to university guidelines.

This Budget is for the University of Michigan Law School's Michigan Immigration and Labor Law Association, and our proposed naturalization workshops in partnership with the Michigan Immigrant Rights Coalition (MIRC). Because this is a service learning projet, and the real power of this project comes from law students serving clients, the majority of our requested 1,000.00 in funds goes to catering. It is commonplace at social justice trainings to offer food, and it's also a powerful recruitment tool for students, so we will be serving pizza at the two trainings. We also have a requested amount for catering at the workshops themselves. When we spoke to MIRC, they said they typically have food available to clients and volunteers at workshops, as some applications can take up to 2 hours. Finally, we asked for printing costs. We plan to print hundreds of color posters, a big sign for the workshops, civic exam handouts, and instructions and templates for our volunteers. We believe this will cost around 600.00 depending on how much the signage costs, but we ask for 350.00 from the library.
