2019-2020 CONTENT CALENDAR STARTER FOR SCHOOL MARKETERS BY HELLOMETHOD
2
WEEK OFWeekly theme: These themes should tie directly to the strategic Story Framework you establish for your school's story. Weekly posts: This is where you can organize your core stories for your school. Typically a blog post, these should be published somewhere on your website, which should be the hub of your school's story and can be easily found if a member of your audience is looking for specific information. We recommend these stories be edited to 350 words or less, polished in your school's tone of voice, and include a strong call-to-action (i.e. download here, rsvp here, follow here). Weekly newsletters: This is where you can organize the weekly roundup of your weekly posts plus additional pressing news you need to highlight for your audiences. This is typically shared through a weekly email. Make sure your newsletters are designed so they are easy to read, easy to scoll and easy to click for more information. Each main feature and sub story should point to a post on your website (your story hub) with more information.Ad hoc emails: This is where you can monitor all email communications as best as possible. The purpose of documenting all email communications is to keep an eye on all messaging that is shared with your audiences. These will include all individual emails sent by your communications department as well as members of faculty and staff. Important: While you can't control everything sent by members of faculty and staff, you should have a summary documented so you can periodically analyze everything that reaches your audience to make sure all emails are in line with the overall Story Framework you set for your school and that every email meets your audience's needs.Planned social posts: If your school has a social presence, this is where you can organize the big messages you will share across social. These are the posts you can draft ahead of time and schedule. These are in addition to your in-the-moment social work.Supporting creative pieces: This is to help you organize supporting creative pieces that you need to produce and may be attached to your communications. Examples: calendars, invitations, forms, templates, or anything else you need to produce throughout the year for distribution to our audience.
