Each participant was given a number to choose beforehand and topics were provided to them on the spot according to the number they chose. Three minutes of time was given to each participant to prepare and three minutes to speak upon. The program was judged by Dr. Prithvish Bose, Director of Product and Innovations at Adamas University and Arka Sarkar of SOE was declared the winner. The conduction of the event was made possible by smooth working and coordination among all the faculty coordinators and student coordinators. Adamas University Talent Hunt Competition for 1st Year Students Quiz-O-Grand: The event is one of the live events amongst many in Talent hunt 2021 organized by SOET, AU aired on 26th June 2021 from 11:50 am to 12:30 pm. The faculty organizers of this event were Dr. Rituparna Mitra from SOET and Dr. Pallavi Sinha Das from SOLACS and student members were Parichay Nandi, Satyajit Ghosh, and Oliva Dutta from SOET and Arijit Karmahaparta from SOLACS. Initially, we had 25 participants from various schools of AU. Ultimately, we got 18 finalists for the D-day divided into 6 groups named ADAMAS PLUS ULTRA, ADAMAS LAUREATES, GRAFFITI ADAMAS, PHARM TIGERS OF ADAMAS, ADAMAS BIO WARRIORS, and ADAMAS SOLDIERS. The different components of DevOps such as Docker, Jenkings and Kubernets. The speaker enlightened us how automation in the software development had made the production and development easy. He introduced docker as a software platform for building applications based on containers — small and lightweight execution environments that make shared use of the operating system kernel but otherwise run-in isolation from one another. While containers as a concept have been around for some time, Docker, an open source project launched in 2013, helped popularize the technology, and has helped drive the trend towards containerization and microservices in software development that has come to be known as cloud-native development. He also added that each Docker container starts with a Dockerfile. A Dockerfile is a text file written in an easy-to-understand syntax that includes the instructions to build a Docker image (more on that in a moment). A Dockerfile specifies the operating system that will underlie the container, along with the languages, environmental variables, file locations, network ports, and other components it needs—and, of course, what the container will actually be doing once we run it. And for Jenkings he took us to the inception of Jenkings by giving example that in 2004 by Kohsuke Kawaguchi, while he worked for Sun Microsystems. Kohsuke was a developer at Sun and got tired of incurring the wrath of his team every time his code broke the build. He created Jenkins as a way to perform continuous integration – that is, to test his code before he did an actual commit to the repository, to be sure all was well. Once his teammates saw what he was doing, they all wanted to use Jenkins. Kohsuke open sourced it, creating the Jenkins project, and soon Jenkins usage had spread around the world. And from their taking us to the present day of Jenkings which are Jenkins orchestrates the entire software delivery pipeline – called continuous delivery. For some organizations automation extends even further, to continuous deployment. Continuous delivery (CD), coupled with a DevOps culture, dramatically accelerates the delivery of software. Jenkins is the most widely adopted solution for continuous delivery, thanks to its extensibility and a vibrant, active community. The Jenkins community offers more than 1,700 plugins that enable Jenkins to integrate with virtually any tool, including all of the best-of-breed solutions used throughout the continuous delivery process. Jenkins continues to grow as the dominant solution for software process automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery and, as of February 2018, there are more than 165,000 active installations and an estimated 1.65 million users around the world.
