This fun 2-hour class will be an introduction to target archery, including description and demonstration of recurve handbows and longbows, crossbows, arrows, bolts, safety equipment, rules, range etiquette, and use of all the stuff that makes SCA Target Archery so enjoyable.

This Archery 101 How to Shoot and Enjoy Target Archery was developed by Bowmasters Master Johan of Hawksley and Mistress Catyln O’ Sullivan (former KRA –Kingdom Royal Archer). It will be presented by Bowmasters THL Pol O’ Coileain and Lady Camere de Misericordia.

Students are encouraged to continue with their training by presenting themselves at the archery range where instructors will be available. Loaner gear including crossbows will be available.

This is an opportunity for anyone interested in archery or beginning archers who want to learn a fun sport. Feel free to message me. See you there.

This class will cover basic spinning terminology, various pieces of spinning equipment and a hands on session on spinning wool. There will be spindles available for either lending or purchase as well as some wool fiber for spinning, so don't worry if you don't have any of the tools! Bring a chair if you can - it's easier to coordinate just 2 limbs :).

1:00 PMWireworking 1: Lets Make Simple Straight Pins/Lady Ambré Renée de PassaisWe will be making a simple straight pin from wire. I use them myself to pin veils but in early period larger versions are used as closures or like we use buttons or ties. The idea is that you will learn and build on the skills needed for the other three classes in my series. All materials provided. Make as many as you wish as long as time and materials allow. This class is aimed at beginners but all skill levels welcome.

Children must be accompanied by an adult, as we are working with wire and there is always a chance of injury if care is not used.

Some loaner tools available but recommended that you bring two pairs of pliers with one or more being of the needle-nose type. That’s the ones that are long and narrowing to rounded tip.

2:00 PMThread woven buttons/Isabetta del VerdeA hands-on class where we will learn how to make thread wrapped buttons appropriate for late period clothing. Everyone will get help getting started on their buttons but don't expect to finish it during the class as this is a time consuming craft that packs small.
Materials will be provided for at least 10 people but more are welcome to watch.
