We offer three types of non-renewable scholarships to recognize and support male and female high school seniors who have demonstrated exceptional, meaningful, and impactful community service during high school.

The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage recipients to continue serving others throughout their lives—and to inspire their peers to make a lasting difference as well.
Eligibility:

Our mission is to provide financial support to Black or African American high school students who seek to further their education in college, but face socio-economic hardships. Under the 2026 Scholarship Program, we are awarding twelve (12) scholarships ranging from $2,000 - $6,000 for the academic school year 2026-2027.Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be Black or African American
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Good academic standing with 2.0 GPA (unweighted)
- Community service and/or Extra-curricular activity involvement
- Must submit a letter of recommendation from school counselor

Through this community-led effort, we aim to open doors to academic opportunity and empower future innovators to achieve more and become more.Eligibility Criteria:
- Current high school senior.
- Plan to enroll in an undergraduate program at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school in the United States beginning in the fall of the upcoming academic year.
- Pursue a degree in one of the following eligible fields: Engineering​, Computer Science​, Computer Information Systems​, Law, Business (including related fields such as paralegal studies, pre-law, finance, business administration, or marketing)
- Demonstrate a passion for technology.
- Demonstrate leadership in school and/or the community.
- Have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
- Require financial assistance to attend college.
- Plan to enroll as a full-time or half-time student.

Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) Scholarship12March 20, 2026$4,000LinkThe SCAG Scholarship Program, in partnership with the California Transportation Foundation, awards nine $4,000 scholarships to high school or community college students from the SCAG region. Students of any field of study are invited to apply, with preference given to applications that demonstrate a commitment to community planning, regional planning, urban planning, civil engineering, political science, public administration, sustainable development, or other related fields. Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a resident within the SCAG region (i.e., Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, or Ventura counties, or on Tribal lands within the SCAG region) and be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be a graduating high school senior or currently enrolled in a two-year community college in the SCAG region. Graduating high school seniors must enroll in higher education (i.e., two- or four-year college or university) immediately following graduation from high school (i.e., no gap year).
- Must have a 3.0 grade point average or higher (based on a 4.0, unweighted scale).

Other requirements: Students may be asked to submit proof of eligibility to work in the United States if selected as a recipient. Successful recipients may be asked to provide a picture and quote to publicize SCAG’s Scholarship Program.

Banatao Family Filipino American Education Fund Scholarship12March 24, 2026$5,000LinkThe Banatao Family Filipino American Education Fund scholarship program was established in 2002 by Dado and Maria Banatao through the Asian Pacific Fund. The scholarship is designed to support California high school students of Filipino heritage who demonstrate excellence in math and science to pursue rewarding engineering and science careers where Filipino Americans are underrepresented. Eligibility Criteria
- Grade Level: Rising freshmen (first-years) enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year college or university for the 2026-2027 academic year
- Minimum GPA: 3.0
- Major: Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Environmental or Physical Science
- Note: Those pursuing health careers are not eligible for this scholarship (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, etc.).
- Ethnic Heritage: Filipino heritage (at least 50%)

Rainbow Youth Scholarship12March 27, 2026$500+LinkThe Los Angeles LGBT Center's Rainbow Youth Scholarship provides scholarship funding to LGBTQ+ youth engaged in higher education. This scholarship fund was created to assist youth in reaching their career and educational aspirations. It was founded on the belief that all young people deserve of a supportive educational experience.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a graduating senior (with either a high school diploma or GED) or already enrolled in an accredited college or university. Graduate programs do not qualify for these opportunities.
- A copy of your college acceptance letter or proof of current enrollment for Fall 2026
- One letter of recommendation (from a teacher, counselor, principal, mentor, etc.)
- Must reside in California to be eligible

Created in memory of Felice Samuel Greene, who believed that all teenagers are deserving of a supportive educational environment to help them thrive for a better tomorrow, this scholarship is for youth working diligently in hopes of reaching their career and educational aspirations. Applicants of all majors and disciplines are encouraged to apply.

The Susan Cruz Scholarship12March 27, 2026$500+LinkThe Susan Cruz Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to LGBTQ+ youth engaged in higher education. The fund honors the memory of Susan Cruz, a devoted homemaker and mother of six who always found time to attend college classes in pursuit of her ultimate goal: becoming a teacher. She ultimately fulfilled her dream, earning her bachelor’s degree at the same time her oldest child earned his. Applicants of all majors and disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Grand Prix Foundation Long Beach Scholarship12March 30, 2026$1,500LinkThe Grand Prix Foundation was incorporated in January of 1991 as a non-profit organization whose main purpose is to raise funds through a series of charitable events held in conjunction with the annual Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. In addition to donating money to charitable organizations in the Greater Long Beach area, the Foundation Board of Directors established a scholarship program for graduating seniors from the high schools in the Long Beach area.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Recipients must be residents of Long Beach or Lakewood OR attend a Long Beach/Lakewood high school.
- Current high school senior.
- Plan to enroll in an undergraduate program at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school in the United States beginning in the fall of the upcoming academic year.

Be studying engineering or computer science full time at the collegiate level in the upcoming academic year.
Be enrolled in a program accredited by ABET, the India National Board of Accreditation, OR at a SWE Global Affiliate School in India.
Have a high school GPA above 3.5 OR a University GPA above 3.0.

Kochhar & Co. specializes in owner-managed corporations based in the Okanagan Valley, and has offices in both downtown Kelowna and Penticton.
To be eligible for the "Kochhar & Co. Scholarship" a student must:

1) Be attending college or university on a full-time or part-time basis no later than September 2026.

2) Have achieved a GPA of 2.5 or greater during their last academic year.

3) Submit an answer to the essay question no later than 11:59 PM EST on the day of the deadline.

Project Yellow Light/Hunter Garner Scholarship is a scholarship competition designed to bring about change. As an applicant you have one clear mission: encourage your peers to develop and embrace safe driving habits. A lot of distracted driving prevention creative uses scare tactics or preachy messaging that addresses the consequences of messaging while driving (crashes or death), but we want you to address what motivates people to think they can safely use their phones while driving.

Your Mission: Create a video ad, a radio spot, or a design for a billboard ad to encourage safe driving.

Your Audience: Young drivers who are new to the road.

Your Topic/Brief: Stop distracted driving, specifically phone use while driving. In a world where we regularly stay connected through technology, drivers don’t always realize when they shift into distracted driving. We need to remind them that distracted driving is dangerous, and oftentimes deadly.

There are three separate competitions: Video, Billboard, and Radio with one winner in each category
- High school juniors and seniors at the time of entry who will complete their high school graduation requirements by July 2026 or 2027 and who intend to attend a U.S. accredited college or university or trade school or vocational training beginning in the fall of 2026 or 2027 (the “High School Criteria”);

- Do not use any design elements that are not of your creation (stock photos, emojis, Apple or any other branding, etc.). and avoid (or blur) all branding in your submission.

American Nuclear Society Incoming Freshman Scholarship12April 1, 2026$1,000LinkANS Incoming Freshman Scholarship was established by the ANS Board in November 2003 for incoming college freshmen pursuing science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) courses with an interest in working in nuclear science and technology.Eligibility:
- Graduating Senior in High School
- Academic achievement in high school of more than 3.5 or equivalent.
- Quality and content of 500-word essay of “declared intention for further study".
- Enrollment in a 4-year institution with science/math/engineering programs.
- Extra-curricular activities in high school; honorary societies, etc.
- Advanced placement courses and ACT/SAT are highly recommended.
- Two (2) Letters of recommendation from a counselor, employer or teacher from a -Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics-STEM course.
- Recipients must become an ANS student member once they begin their undergraduate studies. Once ANS verifies these awardees have joined the Society, they will be sent the award funds.

Eligibility:
• Must be a current graduating senior from a LBUSD high school.
• Must show proof of acceptance from an accredited community college or four-year university.
• Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.

Cathy and Peter Ridder Scholarship Fund12April 2, 2026$500+LinkThe Cathy and Peter Ridder Scholarship Fund was established for the purpose of supporting students attending Long Beach City College or California State University, Long Beach. Students eligible for this scholarship will show economic need as well as community-minded ideals.
Students attending Long Beach City College pursuing a degree in one of the trades the school offers or nursing will be eligible to apply.
Preference will be made to residents of the greater Long Beach area. (Long Beach, Signal Hill, Lakewood, and Avalon)
Eligibility:
- The applicant must be a current student at Long Beach City College OR planning on attending
- Students attending or planning to attend California State University, Long Beach pursuing a Nursing degree are also eligible to apply

Roberta and Matthew Jenkins Scholarship12April 2, 2026$500+LinkThe Roberta and Matthew Jenkins Scholarship was created for the express purpose of supporting Black students who face economic challenges in their pursuit of a college degree. The intersectionality of race, systemic and structural inequality, and inter-generational poverty have definite and lingering consequences on these students' aspirations and life trajectories. The consequences of these inequities are most evident in their post-secondary pursuits and achievement.

The intent of this funding is to provide academic scholarships, academic support, and comprehensive resources to Black students residing in the Greater Long Beach area, who have applied to, been accepted into, or are currently attending California State University, Long Beach.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must have already applied to, been accepted into, or currently attending California State University, Long Beach.
- Applicants must reside in the Greater Long Beach area
- Preference will be for high school seniors. However, current college students and community college graduates will also be considered.
- Applicants must be a graduating high school senior or equivalent, a previous graduate from a public or private high school, or possess a General Educational Development (GED) certification

At LBS Financial, we hope to provide an opportunity for more of our Members to reach for the stars by offering two $2,000 scholarships per year. It’s a fairly sure thing you won’t get a scholarship you don’t apply for, so what are you waiting for? Get an application and go for it!Eligibility:
- The student must be a Member of LBS Financial Credit Union and in good standing prior to submitting a scholarship entry form.
- The student must be enrolled as a high school senior or in their freshman to junior year at an accredited college at the time of application.
- High school sophomore or juniors may apply if they are dual-enrolled at an accredited college at the time of application.
- Scholarship funds must be used at an accredited educational institution by January 31, 2027 for tuition and text books only.

Propeller Club Scholarships12TBD / NOT OPEN YET$250 - $1,000LinkThe Propeller Club of Los Angeles-Long Beach is offering scholarships ranging from $250 to $1,000 for graduating high school seniors.

In 2019, the Board of Governors established two additional $1,000 scholarships in memory of David Arian and Adam Birkenbach to honor their contributions.

Starting in 2025, the Board will introduce an additional scholarship in honor of John Ochs, continuing the club’s commitment to supporting students and honoring outstanding individuals in the maritime community.
This scholarship is open to high school seniors currently residing in and/or attending schools located in the cities of Long Beach, Lakewood, San Pedro, Wilmington, Harbor City or Carson and demonstrating deserving academic records, outstanding citizenship and school and community service.

The Maude and Alexander Hadden Scholarship12May 14, 2026$10,000LinkEstablished in 1968, the Maude and Alexander Hadden Scholarship is awarded to exceptionally worthy high school seniors with demonstrated financial need, for up to four years of college undergraduate study. Hadden Scholars must be U.S. citizens matriculating at a four-year accredited college or university established in the United States.

In awarding Hadden Scholarships, Youth Foundation considers scholastic achievement, character, leadership, volunteerism, and financial need*. There is a minimum unweighted grade point average requirement, 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, to apply for a Hadden Scholarship. There is no minimum test score requirement, but past winners have had competitive scores.
High school seniors who are U.S. citizens planning to attend a four-year accredited college or university established in the United States. Each applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and have SAT and/or ACT test scores to submit.

Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Art ContestAllJune 8, 2026$50 - $1,000LinkThe 2026 Ocean Awareness Contest – Your Story, Our Ocean – encourages you to explore the many ways our ocean sustains, protects, and inspires us. We invite you to think about your personal connection to the ocean – whether you’re coastal or landlocked – through the value it brings to your life. The benefits of the ocean are widespread and multifaceted, from food production to climate regulation to artistic inspiration. Go through the sub-themes and explore the topics that resonate with you. Share how the ocean has shaped your story through art, writing, performance, film, or multimedia. How does the ocean sustain, protect, and inspire you?Open to students ages 11-18 who are enrolled in middle school or high school (or the homeschool equivalent) worldwide. Proof of age, identity, or eligibility may be required.
Students who have started college or university are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
Students ages 11-14 may enter the Junior Division. Students ages 15-18 may enter the Senior Division. Please enter the age division based on your age at the time of entry.
