Lunch provided around 1 pm to all participants. Meet at the Georgia Power Dam (Lloyd Shoals Park) at 8:30 am to review safety and other information related to the cleanup. We will clean up the shoreline either by boat or by land, depending on the water level and the area to be cleaned. We have three boats and will provide life vests and rubber gloves for all participants.

What you need to bring: Minimum of one adult for every eight minors. Participants should wear closed-toed shoes and bring gloves. It's important to dress for the weather. Please contact Ken White (email above) two weeks before the cleanup date. It's important to let Ken know the number of attendees so he can plan accordingly. JLA will sponsor two or more clean-up events each year. Georgia Power will support the events by providing a roll-off dumpster for any trash collected in Jackson Lake.

The Lake Cleanups are a big part of continuing to keep our waters clean. If you have not seen the JLA page for the trash trap update, check it out here.

JLA boats may be used by members to gather trash in Jackson Lake. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to properly dispose of the trash collected by taking it to the county landfill or transfer station. If trees, logs or large limbs are taken to the Georgia Power ramp, they must be placed on the shoreline or secured, by rope, to the shoreline or adjacent tree.

6/28/202510:00:00 AMJackson Lake Ride the RiverLloyd Shoals Dam 180 Dam Rd Jackson GAJackson Lake AssocationJared Godinjaredgodin@gmail.com678-490-5888What Is Ride the River?

Ride the River is an event where owners of PWC (Personal Water Craft) sometimes called Jet Ski's, get together to ride one of our wonderful rivers. 1, 2, and 3 seater PWC's have joined the ride in the past. The ride usually picks up other PWC riders along the way. A JLA boat will often follow behind the group in case anyone needs a tow or gets into trouble. Ride the River is coordinated by Jared Godin.

Why Should I Join?
It is an opportunity to meet new neighbors with the same interest. One rider said it's like being part of a "motorcycle gang on the water." Another said, "Thanks so much for showing us this hidden gem. We take all our lake guests up the river now."

Where Do You Meet?

We meet at Lloyd Shoals at the dam. We will gather from 9:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. At 10:00 a.m., we will ride up the lake to either the Yellow River or the Alcovy River .

What Should I Bring?
Everyone on your PWC needs a life vest. Fill your gas up the night before. Most of the newer PWC's have a large enough tanks that a good 1/2 will do the ride. Bring some sunscreen as well and bottled water.

How Long Does It Last?

The ride takes about 1 and 1/2 hours. Some riders leave to head home after the ride, but others meet up at one of our local marinas for lunch and friendship.

9/20/202510:00:00 AMJackson Lake Paddle The RiverTussahaw RiverJackson Lake AssocationPaul Cox jacksonlakepaddleclub@gmail.com(404)275-2612The Jackson Lake Paddle Club offers a chance to get together with fellow paddlers to explore some of the beautiful waterways that feed our lake. Popular trips include a remote portion of the South River, the lovely shoals on the Alcovy and the narrow backwaters of Tussahaw Creek. Trips are about 3 or so miles long and last about two hours, often followed by a group lunch.
We offer a shuttle service, too!
Paddle what you like -- kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle boards are all welcome. With advance notice, we can transport lake residents and their boats from their dock, by lake on a pontoon boat, to the start of each event. Paul Cox organizes the shuttles and brings the cookies!

Why Should I Join the Paddle Club?

Paddling our beautiful local waters is fun. Paddling with your lake neighbors and others who enjoy paddle sports is even MORE fun. Plus, the boat shuttle makes it easy to get from your home on the lake to the start of the paddle.

Who Can Attend?

Any paddler!

What's the Cost?

FREE! The Jackson Lake Association graciously pays for the boat shuttles. There could be some costs associated with parking if you put in at one of our local marinas, so be sure to check with the marina.

What Should I Bring?

Of course you'll need your boat and paddle, but definitely also bring a personal flotation device (lifejacket) that fits and floats. Also, bring along some water, sunscreen and clothing appropriate for watersports and the outside temperature. Consider bringing a towel for after the paddle event ends, too.

How Long Do the Events Last?

The events are scheduled from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. but we sometimes schedule group lunches after the events. We'll be sure to announce the details before each event.

How Many Miles Do We Paddle Each Time?

Each paddle is about 2-3 miles. The pace is very leisurely. Slowing down for snacks and good conversation is encouraged!

Where Do We Meet?

We'll announce the details before each paddle. We pick a place to start the paddle that's easy to get to from a lake marina or by using the shuttle boat.

10/18/20253:00:00 PMTrick or Treat Trail Indian Springs State Park- Group CampIndian Springs State ParkStephen Davis & Adrianna Gunnelsstephen.davis@dnr.ga.gov; adrianna.gunnels@dnr.ga.gov770-504-2277The Trick or Treat Trail is back and better than ever!
After missing out over the last two years, we have revamped our fall event to bring you the Trick or Treat Trail 2.0!
Children 14 and under are invited to the year's Trick or Treat Trail 2.0! Children will have the opportunity to make a holiday craft, enjoy a bouncey house, trick or treat on our not-so-haunted trail, and meander through our all new slight-fright haunted summer camp! Costumes are strongly encouraged. Adults enter free with child admission. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged!
Edited to add the ticket link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1698325801189?aff=oddtdtcreator
What's Different?
We have partnered with Awakening LARP to bring our guests an enhanced experience. While the general idea of the program is the same, the costumes and characters will be bigger and better than ever!
Through this new partnership we have also been able to add a slight fright haunted summer camp dorm for those who dare to venture through.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Do we need to arrive at exactly 3pm?
No! Everything is open from 3pm-6pm (the trail, haunted house, and bounce houses will close promptly at 6pm).
Will the trail be too scary for some children?
The half-mile Trick-or-Treat Trail will be suitable for children of all ages. Strollers are discouraged due to hills and terrain. This event is designed for children under the age of 14.
Where will the event be held?
This event will be held at the Indian Springs State Park Group Camp off Cenie Road. To get to the group camp you will turn next to the Big Chief Gas Station and follow the road all the way down.
Are there any additional fees?
The $10 ticket includes access to all of the activites. Adults may enter free with child admission. The Friends of Indian Springs may sell some light refreshments (cash only)
