The Department of Psychology is committed to the goals set forth in the university’s mission statement and principles of practice, and in the strategic plan. The Mission of the Department of Psychology is to (1) provide students with core scientific literacy in fundamental areas within psychology, (2) maximize the development of critical thinking, research skills, creative and artistic expression, and proficiency in communication, (3) foster personal and social awareness towards an increase in personal integrity and global understanding, and (4) encourage community responsibility and service.
