Summer Mentorship Hours
3
6/2/20154I went on a shoot in Corona, Ca with my mentor. We took pictures of a family at their house and different locations around the area. I got to take pictures, help with props, adjust the lighting with a reflector, and edit some of the photos. I had a lot of fun working with the family and thir children were super cooperative. We went late in the day so the lighting was perfect and it overall went great.

6/27/20155On the 27th I went to photograph a childs birthday party with my mentor. The little boy was turning one years old and he was so adorable. I got to take pictures of everyone at the party and the family. I also took a lot of pictures of the decorations and helped with props. Everytime I take pictures with my mentor it is a blast and I got to enjoy a little bit of the party as well.

7/9/20153I went over to my mentors house and helped her edit photos and set up two of her cameras. The editing took a long time but I learned a lot of techniques with the program she uses called lightroom. I did a lot of light fixing, touch-ups, and effects on the photos. With setting up her cameras I put fresh batteries in them, cleaned the lenses, and fixed any of the settings on the camera that she told me to.

Mentorship Hours

11/9/20152Today I met up with my mentor and we had coffee and had a meeting and talked about what she'll be having me due. She talked to me a lot about insurance law and had me read over some documents. We also scheduled a time for me to go with her to a litigation.
8
12/17/20153I went to my mentors office and she had me file past cases. Also I got to sit in on a meeting with her and her colleagues. The meeting had to due with a case that just recently got settled. The case had to do with a drunk driver and the victum of the crash suing him for car damage and injury.

1/2/20165I met up with my mentor at her office and she had me create spreadsheets for her regarding her cases. She wanted them to be organized by the document number and by the date. Also, I had to go into this website called "The Timekeeper," and I had to look up information on other lawyers in the firm for her upcoming meetings. Then I organized cases for her and printed, stapled and ordered a lot of paperwork.

Independent Component 1 Hours
11
1/2/20163I'm starting my independent component today. My mentor gave me several cases to help with this component and to help her. I have to read over each case and pull out all the important information and discard the filler. I then put it on a document and summarize the case for her. After that I have to make a spreadsheet and put the document number up and a small decription for each page. Then I email the document to her.

1/3/20162So, today I finished the first case as I stated previouslyt what I have to do with each of them. I am not allowed to share the information on the cases but I will be posting pictures of a couple on my blog.
13
1/5/20163.5I finished my second case today. This case was about a mom and daughter. The daughter is sueing her mother because her moms dog bit her while on her moms property. I had to read ove some witness statements as well and it seems like the mother is lying because she said her dog wasn't even on the property at the time of the incident.
14
1/9/20167I finished up two cases today and sent the off. One of them regarding a man who was coming back from the store and it was around 5:15 pm, so dusk. He was turning a corner and as he turned the other car hit him on the drivers side. He said he didn't see the car coming because of the sun. The other regarding a drunk driver and both cars were totalled. The client is also sueing for injury, a broken leg.
15
1/14/20164I finished one case which took me a little longer because it had a lot of funky information. The case summary had information that didn't add up and the witness statement seemed rudimentary. The case regarded a man who was pulling into a parking space and smashed into the car in front of him. The offender stated he pressed the gas instead of the brake on accident. The witness said he was speeding in the paking lot and thats why he crashed into the car, but what didn't make sense was the witness previously said that the driver was looking down at something and thats why he crashed. He wasn't paying attention.
16
1/17/20164I finished another case today regarding a liability insurance policy. Meaning one of the people involved in the crash was uninsured and the other person involved didn't have that coverage in his policy. It was a bit tricky to understand.
17
1/18/20162Another case finished and emailed to my mentor. This one had to do with the rental of a storage space. The womens things inside got water damage and she claims that it ruined a lot of personal and valuable items of hers. The storage company claims that there is no leak in her storage.
18
1/24/20164Again, another case finished. This one regarding an individual involved in a car accident and the car was insured under a family automobile policy but the person driving the car was not under the policy and was not a relative of the family.
19
1/30/20165Another case finished under division two. This had to do with a man who was convicted for failure to register as a sex offender at the address he was lving at but he was registered under another address. He was in volation of his probation.
