| 11/20/2013 | Mary Kim | Letter A | 1 | 4 | Excellent class. We spent 25 minutes on the Rules Poster since this was their first class on Letter A. The kids struggled a bit on understanding the Rules regarding Long A, but we think they got it. When we used the whiteboard and asked how to make "MAD" sound like a long A, they couldn't answer but after giving some hints, a few started to shout out the answers correctly. When we did the "1 2 3" game using "MAT" and "MATE" and "MET", though, most could not guess correctly - they are still confusing the three sounds. They are okay with the short A, so we were able to get through the first three pages of the Powerpoint. | Please revisit the Long A sound - they still can't hear them correctly. However, Samnang and Marady seem to always get them right. |

| 11/22/2013 | David Fukumoto | Letter A | 5 | it was a great experience for the kids as we did the letter A | They defeinitely understand the Rules, but are still struggling on hearing the difference the short and long A. But because we didn't want to discourage them too much, we kept on going until Page 10. They loved the "1 2 3" game! We think they can't hear the difference between "MATE" and :"MEAT". | Please continue to have them hear the difference between "MEAT" and "MATE". I think they now understand the rules fully so you probably don't have to spend more than 5 minutes on the rules poster. |

| 3/ 6/ 2014 | Hanqi Yao | Letter A | 1 | 3 | I went over the rules page. They had some trouble pronoucing words that ended with a "t." But we did the whole "1,2,3" game and they really loved it.
| 3/14/2014 | Hanqi Yao | Letter A | 1 | 14 | I went over the rules page. And specifically taught them the rules. They know the rules and were able to recite them, but they had some difficulty in discering "play" and "pray" and also they keep pronoucing "please" as "plead"
| 3/20/2014 | Hanqi Yao | Letter A | 7 | 22 | I went over some of the examples of the words with different "a" pronouciation (not all of them, that is why there seems like a lot of slides) and introduced them to sentences with short "a" words and long "a" words. They don't seem to get the difference between plain and plan and also can't pronouce the "ce" in nice. Rany seems to get hold of the pronouciations, but Chholsa is struggling, also Ravic.

They were very quick to learn and got most the of versions of A. They did have a little trouble with the long A sound that is (ai). They couldnt quite pronounce it. But other than that, they were excellent.
| 1/27/2015 | Isabella and Adrianne | Letter 0 | 1 | 21 | The students did very well with all of the different ways of pronouncing the letter "O". They did have a little bit of trouble with "OR". but other than that they did really good. | Review "or" with them and go over some of the sentences. Then you can move onto the next letter. |
