11 | What is included | ||||||||
12 | Supported experiments must be documented with a support letter. For each supported experiment, the UW FiberLab will: | ||||||||
13 | 1. configure hardware and software for experiments, | ||||||||
14 | 2. package and ships the systems from our facilities, | ||||||||
15 | 3. receive, test, and repair equipment after it returns from project use, | ||||||||
16 | 4. conduct annual maintenance including packaging and shipping some equipment for maintenance by the manufacturer, | ||||||||
17 | 5. perform testing and other experimental activities to define/refine best-practices. | ||||||||
18 | The costs charged under these rates include depreciation of equipment, vendor-required maintenance, insurance, and lab personnel salaries. | ||||||||

20 | What is NOT included (paid by the rate payer, not by the FiberLab) | ||||||||
21 | 1. Shipping costs | ||||||||
22 | 2. Hard drives -- although not covered by the rates, inquire with the PI about special funding opportunities | ||||||||
23 | 3. Networking/connectivity/IT support. FiberLab staff might be able to consult on these topics depending on their availability but it is not guaranteed within the scope of these rates. | ||||||||
