Reading Anime comics, discussing stories and sharing updates about it.

Students experience and talk about their own work and other artists. Community service and other art related activities.

Students will be taught American Sign Language and about Deaf culture. No experience is needed to join the club. Everyone is welcome!

High School BBQ Team is an opportunity for kids to learn essential and productive traits for preparing and cooking smoked meat, sides and desserts in a collaborative project based learning format for state competition.

The Guyer Chapter of Best Buddies is a social group focused on the inclusion of students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We hold parties and events monthly to build friendships and memories.

Each group of class officers is expected to act as a liaison between the class and the administration. Unlike a student council, which represents the students of an entire school, class officers represent only a single class. A large goal of class officers is to organize and facilitate activities for the enjoyment of their classmates. They are also responsible for school reunions after graduation.

Students have to be in an agriculture class - but then can join a club to raise animals, join speaking teams, parliamentary teams, floral teams, entomology teams, etc.

Guyer Robotics (STEAM) Team Sponsor: Ms. MatamorosThe STEAM Team competes in the UIL/B.E.S.T. Robotics competition each Fall where we have 6 weeks to design and build a robot that can do very specific tasks according to the competition rules. During the same timeframe we also build an exhibit booth and prepare a marketing presentation about our team and robot. It is a huge undertaking that requires many members of all different backgrounds and skill levels. We are always recruiting and training new members in the areas of construction/tools, programming, CAD, mechanical engineering, public speaking, technical writing, and teamwork.

National Honor Society (NHS)

The National Honor Society (NHS) elevates a school’s commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These are the four pillars of membership.

Chapter membership recognizes students for their accomplishments, but also challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. NHS students volunteer in their communities and make connecting with and serving within the community a priority.

Mu Alpha Theta is a national math honor society for high school students. We prepare for and compete in various local competitions throughout the year including UIL Math, UIL Number Sense, UIL Calculator, the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) Exam, and Trig Star. We also typically plan one overnight trip to a math competition at either Rice University in Houston, TX or Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.

Spanish National Honor Society is an academic honor society focused on Spanish language excellence in secondary education and promotes a continuity of interest in Spanish studies. He/she is required to maintain an "honor grade" or GPA, which correlates with the Society's mission of high academic achievement.
