Playable characters
30
Nothing seems to have changed since the demo, besides missing graphics being added etc.
31
As such, the base game roster seems to be the 44 as theory-crafted in the demo data-mine.
32
Characters revealed in official trailers/in the demo (34) plus Byleth, Seteth, Flayn, Jeralt, Rhea, Catherine, Holst, Sothis, Gatekeeper and Arval
33
However, there are 8 additional slots haphazardly reserved, for:
34
Hanneman, Cyril, Alois, Gilbert, Anna and 3 unknowns
35
See DeathChaos's tweet for an illustrative example:
https://twitter.com/DeathChaos25/status/1539409048155860992
36
These characters don't have space in the typical/expected places for tactical abilities and some other stuff.
37
That said, they could easily allocate space elsewhere, like wherever there's space (pretty sure there's loads scattered around) or at the end?
38
But they do have the exact amount of space in the learnset data etc.
39
BTW, it would be kinda messy to expand the learnset data, due to how it's stored. But should be trivial for the devs.
40
My gut feeling is that this is the upper limit of how far they've planned though.
41
Expeditions
42
After bashing my head for a while, it might be quicker/easier to just save/reload to try all the combinations, rather than data-mine the results.
43
They made it easier than tea parties, I think.
44
Talk and Questions both function like the "final comment" during tea parties.
45
Except the 3 choices are always the same, although the order is often swapped.
46
Also, during repeat comments, the game marks 1~2 choices as incorrect for you.
47
Actually, I may have found something...
48
Merc Whistle
49
According to the tutorial text, giving the "Merc Whistle" to an ally with an A support level with Shez lets you receive a special accessory from them.
50
When this special accessory is equipped, you gain that character's action ability.
51
Only one Merc Whistle can be obtained per playthrough.
52
This feature is referenced in the ability list from ID 12C and onwards.
53
A few characters don't seem to share their action ability: Rhea, Sothis, Gatekeeper and Arval.
54
Hero's Relics
55
There's an achievement (also present in the demo) for collecting all 16 Hero's Relics.
