I've been seeing Dr. Gross for over four years now and she's fantastic. Intuitive, relaxed, takes in every word you say and connects themes together in a subtle but revealing way. It feels like we've really done this work together, like I have a professional partner in this deeply personal process. My growth with her has been profound. She has a particular talent for surfacing mind body connections.

Jeanne Cummingssee her if you have trauma and/or dissociative disorders with or without other kinds of psychiatric illness (depression, etc). She can prescribe meds and does talk therapy too. If she can't help you, she can refer you to a student at the clinic. The clinic takes all kinds of insurance, but call this clinic if you are low income and/or on medicaid, they will really helpyou out. No individual website, but she is clinical faculty at Mt. Sinai St Lukes on 114th212-523-4000 -- ask for intakeDr. Cummings saved my life. She is really one of the best clinicians I've seen for trauma and dissociative disorders. She's totally on top of the latest developments in trauma treatment, and she is also very smart and funny. She runs the trauma focused group therapy at the psychiatric out-patient clinic at Mt Sinai St Lukes. The clinic takes almost all insurance, including Medicaid, and also works with you if you don't have insurance. Patients in the clinic can access primary medical care in-clinic, and also get support accessing all forms of social services.

She's honest, open and has amazing insight. I've been to social workers before but this was my first psychologist experience. She made the transition so easy for me and made me confident that I made the right choice. Lisa Polenbergunion squaretherapist, masters in social work, great with women, anxiety and depression, ideal for hyper self judgerslisa.polenberg@gmail.comI've been seeing Lisa since my family/job/general feelings of ok-ness in my life exploded... saturn returns gone horribly wrong. I like her because she is very zen. My instincts are very performace based --- worthiness based on my job/acheivements. She never lets me think that I can make everytihng better if i just do better. It's been very helpful. She's very "woke" so she'd be a good starting point for POC, and has reccommendations. I have friends who have gone to her have their life transformed. :) tell her lori sent you! (I don't get anything <3 ) sliding scale

I am unable to see her due to my insurance having no out-of-network coverage, but she's a very sweet, warm, and caring person. Rose Latinoanxiety / depression / grief / addiction / everything?https://therapists.psychologytoday.com/rms/name/Rose_Latino_PhD,LCSW_Brooklyn_New+York_86015She's gentle and kind and realistic and nonjudgmental, and it's incredibly apparent she truly wants the best for her patients — and that she truly believes things do get better, even if it takes work. I've recommended her to three friends, and all of them see her now and think she's great. Each time I walk out of a session with her I feel lighter no matter how heavy the hour itself might get. (Also, she uses a sliding scale!)

Ryan JacobsGrief + Loss, LGBTQ+, Anxiety, Addiction, Depression, HIV/AIDS, etc.https://mytherapynyc.com/ryan-jacobs/Started seeing Ryan last summer primarily because my dad died in October of 2015, but I've had issues w/ anxiety + depression + alcoholism since teenagerdom anyway and was meaning to find someone up here // have continued seeing him twice a month since I like him so much // laid back but definitely holds me accountable which (especially as a freelancer who works from home) I need sometimes. Also only $10 a session w/ my insurance (Care First) which is a mega bonus.<---said it over here, but they take my insurance at the office (Care First)

Simone Blochrelationship issues / LGBTQ / depressionhttp://simonebloch.com/My partner and I started going to her when it seemed like all of our mutual friend couples were breaking up. We were pretty solid but suddenly, we were pulled in all sorts of directions and felt like therapy could help. Simone is bright, honest, and we spend most post session convo's talking about how cool she is and how much she really works to "get" us. She also wears two "Black Lives Matters" bracelets and to me, that signaled that we shared a lot of the same values. She does solo therapy as well.

Susan BurdenUESrelationship and family psychologist; general anxiety, grief and depressionsburden@wambco.com / 212.288.9830I started seeing Susan after a break up, and one year later I can confidently say that she is one of the best therapists I've ever worked with. She's so smart, has a calming prescence, never comes across as condescening or preachy, and brings a really valuable outside perspective to the things that we discuss. She makes me feel heard and it's evident that she cares in how she remembers and recalls details from previous sessions often—even off-hand comments I ordinarily wouldn't give another thought. She's goal-oriented and is a good person to see if you're going through that existential mid-20s 'what do I want'/'what should I be doing'/'who am I' crisis She doesn't take insurance, but will work with your provider for the out-of-network rate
38
Tabitha LimotteEating disorderstabithalimotte.comTabitha is one of the most "with it" therapists I've worked with, who has a great understanding of the unique pressures that present for New Yorkers working in a creative industry. Also, she's just really cool.Reimburses at Out of Network rate.
