This spreadsheet is designed to help provide communities with information on data points to monitor and factors to consider as part of their efforts to estimate future entries into the homelessness system. Continual monitoring of newly available data will help communities to refine and update their estimates. The spreadsheet includes the following tabs:

Dashboard—Overall

This tab is a dashboard that communities can use to visualize trends over time based on data they input about their local jurisdiction(s). The dashboard shows the data in a series of charts and tables with the data grouped into seven areas: economic, evictions, policy environment, housing conditions, Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and 211/311 calls, Household Pulse Survey, and health data. The charts and tables on this tab are designed to automatically update based on data that communities input into tables in the tabs that correspond to the specific area. For example, communities will be able to see recent trends in umployment rates by entering the data for their local area into the table in the "Economic Data" tab. (Note: The data that initially appears in the table and charts are sample data. To customize the tables and charts for your community, please enter your data in the corresponding tabs.)

Dashboard by Race & Ethnicity

This tab provides a series of charts for the data points that can be disaggregated by race and ethnicity, which includes data on evictions, COVID-19, housing insecurity from the Household Pulse Survey, and HMIS. Similar to the Dashboard—Overall, the charts are designed to automatically update based on data communities input into tables in the tabs that correspond to the specific area.
