Terminology Notes:
2
どこでもカード (Dokodemo Cards) were translated as "Suit Yourself Cards" in both English Itadaki Street games. It's a decent enough name, though "Wild Card" is shorter if we are tight on space.
3
チャンスカード (Chance Cards) were translated as "Venture Cards" in both English Itadaki Street games. I like Chance Cards better, but I guess we should probably keep with the official translations...
4
マーク (Marks) (♠♥♦♣) were translated as "Suits". Makes enough sense.
5
Lucky Squares were translated as "Boon Squares".
6
Holiday Squares were translated as "Take-a-break Squares", but I don't know if that translation is better or worse than just keeping them Holiday Squares...
7
Dice Squares(? I think this is what they're called) were translated as "Roll-on Squares". I like Dice Squares better here, but again, if space permits we should keep with the official translation...
8
エリア (Areas) are called "districts".
9
10
(Probably other things, I forget what other terminology differences we might run into)

For dialogue text and tutorial text:
20
You can test how text will look in-game here:
21
https://raspberry.rosenthalcastle.org/itadaki-street-2/bigtext-vwf.php
22
Lots of the Japanese text barely fit in its speech bubbles, so I expect the English translation will probably have trouble fitting, too...
23
I can look into having text stretch across multiple bubbles, so don't worry too much about dialogue being too long for now.
24
(Do make sure it doesn't run off the right edge of the textbox, though, because I can't easily change that... ^^;;; There isn't any word-wrapping, so use linebreaks where you need them.)
25
Also, characters past ASCII 0x7F (the DEL character) aren't shown in that bigtext viewer because they are currently a copy of the hiragana/katakana table used by the smalltext font, and some other characters display differently (notably, { and } are left and right quotes, and ^ is the multiplication symbol ×).
26
If you need a character past 0x7F (any accented character, for example) or any other character that you can't otherwise find or type, just let me know.

Mini-note from Raspberry:
* Working on disassembling the AI routines ($7E:0130 is used for selecting which message will be spoken, so tracing that will help determine what each line is used for)
(This is taking too long and is endlessly confusing @~@ I'll come back to it later...
* Working on tracing out system menus and venture card text
