As for scholarships, all UNBC students are eligible to apply for any scholarships that may be relevant to them. UNBC also has early entrance awards which students will be automatically eligible if they apply and get admitted early by January 15th for the next academic year.

UNBC has mental health services.

We also have peer-to-peer mentorship where new students will be matched with current students to give them support navigating their new life as a student and even with getting to know the life in Prince George.

Offers free, confidential counselling and therapeutic support to all students including those experiencing trauma or stress due to war or displacement. Their multi-disciplinary team includes Registered Psychotherapists, Social Workers, a Student Intervention Specialist, a Dibaadan Wellness Coordinator, and Peer Support Providers. Options include individual therapy, drop‑ins, e‑support modules, and culturally sensitive care such as BIPOC‑focused support programming.

Ukrainian students enrolled at TMU are eligible to apply for financial supports through AwardSpring. Award availability and criteria vary by year. Notably, TMU previously offered the Ontario/Ukraine Solidarity Award valued at $10,000 (subject to annual approval).

Students may qualify for domestic tuition if they are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents. However, the CUAET visa, as an open work permit, does not qualify for international fee exemption. Students are encouraged to review categories listed on TMU’s Fee Rates page or contact the ServiceHub to confirm eligibility. The Sanctuary Scholars program may be another option for those not meeting exemption criteria.
