*NOTE--This scholarship is based in the Houston area!
|2/3/2017||AABE Scholarship--click on Houston Link||up to $10,000||1. The student must have an unweighted academic average of “B” or better (3.0 on a 4.0 scale).|
2. The student must be a graduating high school senior who intends to enroll the next semester following high school graduation in an accredited college or university.
3. The student must plan to major in business, one of the physical sciences, technology, engineering or mathematic fields in preparation for a career in the energy sector.
4. The student must be one of the historically underrepresented minorities in the sciences, technology, engineering and math related disciplines. (African American, Hispanic or Native American)

|2/10/2017||ACET Scholarship||$1,000||• ACET offers 20 scholarships annually to graduating high school students. The tuition scholarships are payable directly to the college, university, or other post-secondary institution of the student's choice. |
• Student applicants must provide documented proof of participation in a compensatory education program sometime during their school career.
• Compensatory Education includes programs such as Title I, Bilingual/ESL, State Compensatory Education (SCE), Migrant and Homeless and Pregnant or Parenting students.

Currently a senior in good standing in a greater Houston or surrounding area accredited high school.
Relocated between grades 9 and 12.
Relocated more than 50 miles and changed schools due to their family's relocation
Currently have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 (or equivalent achievement on a different scale)

Plan to enroll part-time or full-time, without interruption, for the entire upcoming academic year at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school in the U.S.
Have a minimum grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).
Be a U.S. citizen or a legal U.S. resident.

|2/17/2017||Hamman Foundation||seventy $18,000 awards|
Houston area high school seniors who attend schools or are homeschooled in the following eight counties: Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery or Waller.
Students who are citizens of the United States. Students with Permanent Resident status are not eligible.
The Scholarships are awarded based on academics and financial need.

1. Applicant must be a student currently attending Galena Park HS, North Shore Senior
High or Accelerated Center for Education.
2. A degree in the field of education is being pursued

|2/22||GPEPA LOCAL Scholarship||$500||All seniors from GPISD are eligible! Return the application to your Academic Advisor.|
|2/24/2017||Texas Gifted Program Scholarships||$400-$2,500||Scholarships for students who are identified as part of the Gifted and Talented Program (Encounters); there are scholarships for summer programs, graduating seniors, and three-week math workshops. All current and former Encounters students should check this out!|
|2/28/2017||GCEFCU Scholarship||$4,000||Applicant must be a high school senior.|
Student must be a member in good standing with GCEFCU and parent/legal guardian must be a member in good standing with GCEFCU.
Recipient of the scholarship funds must maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5 and earn at least twelve hours minimum each semester.
The scholarship will be used for the purpose of study at an accredited college or university.
Scholarship funds will be paid each semester to the school of the recipient’s choice when evidence of enrollment and G.P.A. (copy of transcript or grades) maintained is presented to GCEFCU.
Areas of consideration for selection will include need, academic achievement, character, leadership and personal recommendations.
A candidate must have a minimum combined SAT score of 1000 and/or a minimum ACT score of 21.
