When I first seen it, it did look cluttered. But i think thats just due to the scale of your image. Bigger monitor could work really well with the redesign

Looks quite barren. I don't use the samples folder so i can't comment it agains current Live 9. I use custom folders

Overall very nice. There are a lot of changes so a bit hard to keep track of. Maybe a little too much but the addition features you bring with your designs such as the Detachable Windows and mixer are some features I would love to see in Live.

One Feature That could be mentioned is things such as Duplicate Time & Cut Time. Adding them to options in the customizable Header would be a nice touch. Logics tool bar would similar concept to what i am talking about

It's great, but I didn't see a redesign for the arrangement view.... Other than that, it's fucking awesome! (except the detachable windows, which i didn't like at all)

Could be useful but probably not something I would need. I generally know what I've done to my clips

Have a look at a way to integrate track-playlists for multiple takes like in Pro-Tools, Ableton definitely needs that. (probably looks like a group or tracks inside a track or something).
Also maybe for the effect presentation in slots (Mixer view) make sure to have one view for every stock effect in Ableton, so you present a final solution to them that is more likely to be approved. Also probably an option to turn the representation off to save CPU.

How would I monitor gain staging for effects properly? Maybe I missed it, but the volume indicators look smaller than they are currently and they're a problem now.

Yes, as long as it is possible to disable it, since in certain circumstances this can influence the creative process of someone who does not have a very powerful computer.

It was very beautiful and I think it will make a huge difference, for the best, in the work of any producer. But I think the changes in color and layout have become very radical. Do not forget that the design of knobs in Ableton is the symbol and logo of the product. Congratulations on your work and I hope you can get your job.

A drum sequencer layout and ghost channels in MIDI editor mockup, please. Ableton dev team needs to implement that.

i would prefer row of buttons where I could save more views a project. ie: btn 1: only clips view, btn2 clips with instruments... etc

i know it's not the in the interface but we need native lfo, wave editor. for the ui I would suggest to have a look to renoise. they made a good job with their software (IMOH). regards

I think you've over simplified in places, some visual boundaries between elements are gone, and I find it more cluttered as a result. Ableton currently is a bit liberal with its dividers but you've over-shrunk 'em!

I'm in favor of customization, as long as it's not as extensive (and hence confusing) as eg. FL Studio

I don't like the concept of the detail level slider, but as long as you can hide aspects of the interface in some other way, I approve.

I like it in principle but in practice it might require too much memory and be too slow to be usable.

Not sure. I miss the clarity of what is playing and a consistnet row of the progress of each clip.

It would be better if I could have my browser or clip view as a floating window. Otherwise I doubt I would rearrange

My mood is very affected by light levels and this seems a little dark to me. I prefer the stock Ableton grey and the contrast of all the buttons and knobs.

Very hard to see the ghosted info on midi and audio clip examples( 13,14) almost invisible detail.

the font and narrowness of the elements makes me feel like i'm constantly squinting. even if i'm not. If not the font, then perhaps the general colour contrast?

If you could allow to deactivate devices to reduce latency that would be great (not just turn it off). Great job anyway, hope you get the job!

Like it, might not be the best for smaller screens, even though you have said drop down menus. very nice typeface and icon design though, super clean!

I like the dark design, but as long as there are some sweet alternative skins (I happen to like the grey theme of 9) this is awesome. Super super good job, I you get noticed by them. Would be great to see some of your features and designs make it into 10.

Yes, IMO the Device area is the worst part of the standard interface. I feel you should increase visual contrast between Device Rack & rest of interface though as it all blends together

Presumably the waveform/graphic previews will only work for built-in FX/plugins and not 3rd party addons - I expect a lot of people use 3rd party plugins during the Mixing stage so some provision for this could be good.

Your questionnaire is incredibly biased with extremely leading questions. If you don't know what I mean here it's the fact that every question encourages participants to choose the answer that you prefer. I do appreciate the lighthearted humour of the answers, but I doubt the findings from this will be taken seriously by Ableton as you are not allowing for actual opinions and are expecting everyone to say "yes I agree" to each answer.

I like this feature, but I'd also like to see a button implemented that locks and unlocks the windows. I have the bad habit of clicking a lot, so I'm afraid I might be constantly dragging the windows :(

the channel no. and the collor for in/auto/off would be confusing at start, otherwise it looks good

a mix between the 2, full control of display could be time saving or time keeper, needs to be test

What if you had a looped clip with groove that was detuned? Would all of those icons show up next to the clip?

Your multiple choice questions throughout the survey are very biased. But a lot of work was put into this, and some of the design ideas are fantastic!

I like the idea but worried about cpu usage as well as you can l ready browse ableton files in the browsers.

At present I never use use the session view and would like to have the option to be able to have the mixer panel included in the arrangement view. Also want to see better automation curves!

GREAT! Only think to mention is: auomation lines view in mixer mode is useless and eats ressources..

details are viible when clicking on the effect. thats enough. no need for little GR meters and so on... that just needs to much ressources. think about ressources!

A whole track changement log would be great. to see what youve done. Also a simple but very useful "notice" or "comment" window would be great.

Having the colour span the full clip is very useful to see where you are at a glance. The little icons for clip status are nice though.

It's already doable by dropping things in audio racks and mapping controls. Doesn't seem like the "details" needed could be efficiently set by the user

Really like the Design, except the Status group. The Elements don't give enough information. They could also not be there and it would Made no particular difference.

Indeed helpfull - problem would be that this only works for ableton FX and Not for VSTs right? - Also, some don't really use CPU but crazy amounts of RAM. Specially samplers, so that would be a nice one too to See.

Very nice! - But it would be great to Change this for yourself, in a live Situation this is not giving you all the information in an Instant (Clip Colors). But Its amazing to See the automations n' stuff.

Redesign, yeah. But the lines don't represents the waveform really good. Which makes ist more of a 'good looking' instead of working Feature.

It is, but keep in mind that its not about the pure Looks. The Information that is necessary should also come through. Some of the stuff is extremely minimal and could make you having a hard Timing using the Feature really. I would especially See the Status bar and the waveform View as an issue, since the information in there is completely lost. You could also not use them and it would make no difference.

If this design is actually implemented into Ableton Live 10.0 I will be the happiest man alive.

Just some sort of auto save function, like adobe products have. Also, to automatically save all and collect would be a great great great option to have!!
