To save a copy of a Google Sheet for your own use, do the following:
1. Click File in the menu
2. Select Make a copy
3. In the dialog box, you can:
a. Rename the copy
b. Choose where to save it in your Google Drive
c. Decide whether to share the copy with the same people
4. Click OK to create the copy

Any changes you make to your copy will not be reflected on the original document.

To download a copy of a Google Sheet to open in other programs, do the following:

 1. Click File at the top
2. Select Download
3. Choose a file type
