DescriptionAEM Best Practices Cohort States invite you to discuss successes and strategies for procuring accessible materials and technologies.Share resources used with parents, educators, and legislators around concerns about screen time for studentsA number of states are exploring and piloting micro-credentials for educators. Come continue the discussion started on SETDA Connects earlier this year to share brief summaries of progress and opportunities to collaborate on this important topic. We’re in the midst of preparing students for a fundamental shift in the nature of work that includes increased reliance on technology, automation, digital platforms and artificial intelligence. However, the look and feel in many of our schools has not changed in over 100 years. We'll discuss research behind learning space design, avoiding common pitfalls when purchasing furniture and current design trends across the United States.Discuss options available for providing support (PLC's) and PD for school leaders interested in introducing personalized learning in their schools or districtsShare success and strategies for all schools as well as measurement metrics (is kbps/student sufficient?)

TopicK-12 Computer Science Standards - State Development SETDA proposals for NSF Grants: Discovery and iTESTStudent Data PrivacyESSA Accountability/Transparency & Data Interoperability Coding, hour of Code, Week of Code, etc.Capacity vs utilization?
10
DescriptionA general landscape of K-12 CS standards and an overview of each State's legislationSETDA is considering applying for an NSF ITEST grant. The grant focuses on how to get more students ready for STEM. We are interested in what the state role would be in that effort. We would like to partner with a few states and possibly a University on our proposal.Different state and regional solutions to compliance with statutes; resources to support; and national legislative movementsHow are you managing the requirements for your ESSA plan? How are you working through your district accountability and transparency? What data do you have access to and how are you using it? What's new and what does this mean for you? What are you doing on the state level to drive Coding initiatives? What activities do you plan around Hour of Code or week of code? Interested in state collaborations?FCC capacity recommendations vs utilization, how to address the urgency?
