South Carolina Society Children of the American Revolution History of Leadership
2
The South Carolina Society was formed in 1934 during the annual State Conference of the SCDAR. Mrs. John C. Coulter was appointed the first Senior State Presidents (called State Director at the time) by the National Society.  Two Societies still active in South Carolina that actually pre-date the formation of the State Society are the Charlestown Society in Charleston (organized 1905) and Col. James Williams in Gaffney (organized 1915).
