70				For the 2025 season we are trying a new approach for the Winter COTY. It’s one we hope will create more interest from all clubs and will be reviewed at the end of the season to determine the impact.
71				The competition will:
72				1. Be starting with the Bottle Lake Hill Assault and include the other races during the season.

74				2. Be split into two Sections - U18 & Above and U16 & Below
75				a. In the U16 grade competition there will be Boys & Girls U10, U12, U14 & U16 - a total of 8 grades
76				b. In the U18 + competition there will be Men & Women U18, U20, Senior, Masters 35-49, Masters 50-64 and Masters 65+ - a total of 12 grades.

78				3. The points will be based on Individual performances.

80				4. The first 10 placings in each grade earn declining points - First place earns 10 points; Second 9 points, Third 8 points etc down to Tenth & lower 1 point.

82				5. Have only the Top ten placings in each section (U16 / U18+) count. Examples are
83				a. If a club had 10 U16 athletes win first place in all 8 grades they would get a maximum of 80 points for those results and then further points for their next two placed runners.
84				b. If a club had 6 athletes say get two seconds, three thirds and one first they would get (29)+ (38) + 10 giving a total of 52 points
85				c. If a club had 20 people get five firsts, five seconds and 3 thirds they would get (510) + (59) = 95 points as only the top 10 performances count.

87				6. Have, alternate criteria used in events that have non-uniform features:
88				a. In the Hill Assault COTY points for U18+ will be based on the scratch 4k race and the U16 points based on the best 2k lap time of an individual.
89				b. For Friday Night Lights, each runner in a club running in either the Open event or Elininator will gain 5 points each up to a maximum of 50 points. In the U16 competition, Kids not so Eliminator, points will be awarded as normal.
