Lee Alexander RankinYesStop the demolition of rental housing. Use some of the one billion plus dollars in reserve money to build rental housing. Hire a rental advocate/ombudsperson at city hall. Work with federal and provincial government to build subsidized rental housing in Burnaby. Zone sites specifically for rental housing. Ensure new development has dedicated rental units with caps on rent.

Joel GibbsYes1. Use city land in partnership with non-profit, co-op, and other community housing groups to immediately start building more affordable rental, co-op, and social housing. 2. Use rental only zoning to protect all current purpose built rental buildings and require significant percentages of rental in all new large developments. 3. Give non-profit, co-op, and rental projects priority through permitting and a streamlined development process in city hall.
