I highlighted marker values with a yellow or green background when they were very distinctive across all of I-P37.2, for example DYS388=9 for I2a*-France. There is no difference between the yellow and green colors, I used both colors for better readability. The purple color is used for markers that are key to distinguishing related subclades, for example DYS389II for Isles-A1 vs. Isles-A2. Marker values that are bolded but not colored are important for distinguishing related clades but are not so unique across I2a. Column A gives the name of each subclade more-or-less as it appears at the FTDNA I2a (I-P37.2) Project. These clades were identified and named by Ken Nordtvedt several years ago, and he maintained a "Founder's Haplotype" spreadsheet until 2010 approximately, my spreadsheet here is an attempt to update Ken's work. The haplogroup labels like I2a1b for M26+ L160+ correspond to the current FTDNA official haplotree and not to ISOGG or Ken's current trees. But I have added more detail, for example, I2a1b1 for M26+ L160+ Z118+. The biggest difference with the FTDNA system is that I call the Dinaric groups I2a2a while FTDNA calls them just I2a2, FTDNA reserves I2a2a for the very rare I-P41.2 group. The haplogroup names like "Dinaric" and "Isles" were created by Ken to make the groups easier to remember and aren't intended to make claims like "all people matching the Dinaric modal can trace their paternal line to the Dinaric Alps". The "Sardinian" groups have columns A and B colored orange etc., this makes it easier to see which subclades are related and follows the color scheme at the FTDNA I2a Project. Column B lists the important SNP results for each subclade, you can see that the Sardinian clades have many known SNPs to separate them while the other groups like the Isles subclades are still distinguished only by the STR marker differences identified by Ken many years ago. Row 1 lists the 111 markers in FTDNA order, the 43 or so markers tested by SMGF, Ancestry etc. are colored red and the other markers colored blue. The four markers which currently require conversion between FTDNA and Ancestry are highlighted with asterisks, example *442*, and you can see the required conversion by holding your mouse over the marker in row 1.
