This data is taken directly from WarcraftLogs on Monday night. I take the data then so that its specific to whatever tuning was done that week.

4
This spreadsheet is aimed at seeing, using statistical measures, how specs stack up to one another using real Raid data.
5
6
Data is taken at 3 "skill levels" 95th percentile, 75th percentile, and 50th percentile.
7
A "percentile" is the indication of the strength of the parse. A 95th percentile parse means that the DPS was higher than 95% of the other parses.
8
95th percentile should be considered to be an excellent player.
9
75th percentile is a very good player, considered above average.
10
50th percentile is the "average".
11
12
"Mean" is the average damage for all parses
13
"Std Dev" or Standard Deviation measures how spread out the data is. The closer to 0, the closer to the mean.
14
15
Statistically, a number is considered to be within the "average range" if it is within +/- 1 standard devation from the mean.
