10/31Week 11a (Tuesday)20Review Session:
Quiz 7 Solutions
+ Fall 2022 Exam II: P4 (a)
+ Practice Midterm II: 1(a)~(d)
Classwork questions 1-4Please use more analolgies in your discussions.
I find it incredibly helpful to first understand the "picture" (as Einstein put it) of the problem.
For example, relating vector fields to water in a stream, or describing a shape as a pumpkin.
You get the idea.

Reply: Awesome suggestion! I love the idea of making things more relatable through analogies.
Expect to see vector fields as streams and shapes as pumpkins in future classes. Thanks a lot for the tip!
-- Ivan :)
13
For quiz preparation, I recommend reviewing the first two homework problems
(#6 and #10) from Section 13.2 that we discussed last time.
Also, practice some typical problems related to Green's theorem.
10/26Week 10b (Thursday)19Ex 1 + Ex 2 + Quiz 7
[Quiz 7 will cover §13.1-13.4]
13.4 Question 8When going through a problem, can you please go through every step needed in a problem?
Many of the minute, specific computations are glossed over during discussion.
Knowing the minutae helps me better understand a problem.
For example, you sometimes skip over u-substitution or use some other shortcut
that I'm not aware of, so writing it all out really helps a lot.

Reply: Certainly, thank you for your fantastic suggestion! There’s always a balance I strive to
strike between covering enough detail in one problem and covering enough number
of problems in your handout. I’ll make sure to cover every detail while preserving
my easy-to-understand teaching style down the road, and never let it go.

All Suggestions Received from the Survey and My Responses:
--------------------------------------------------------
"Is there any way to give the solutions of each
question on separate pages so it's not all squished
together and easier to read?"

-- Absolutely, that's a fantastic suggestion! I'll
make sure to implement it going forward.

--------------------------------------------------------
"...If anything, I might suggest continuing to print
out the formulas you write on the boards. To me,
your notes are really helpful and it's easier to
remember the formulas when I have a physical copy
rather than have to go on my computer for them..."

-- Of course, thank you for the praise!
I'll make it a point to print out the
formulas each time.

--------------------------------------------------------
Besides suggestions, I also greatly appreciate other kind comments
with approval and encouragement. I've read all of them and
I thank you for your heartfelt support!
10/19Week 9b (Thursday)17Ex 1 (a)(b)(c)(d) + Quiz 6
[Quiz 6 will focus on §11.8 and §12.2-4,
it will not include §13.1.]

It happens when the homework problems are numerous and challenging,
and the deadline is looming. It's natural to have complaints.
As a student myself, I can certainly relate to that. However,
I've always encouraged you to do your best and view each
homework assignment as an opportunity to excel in your studies.
When you navigate the gear of your academic journey well,
the journey can be enjoyable. It all depends on how you
view and feel about it. Having a large volume of homework
can be an excellent opportunity for you to integrate
the concepts and formulas you’ve learned into your
mathematical toolbox, enabling you to know not just when,
but also how deeply to apply them—making them a part of you.
This will give you a deep understanding of what’s going on,
which is essential for doing well in this course in a
way that can positively influence your life.
