Synopsis

This spreadsheet contains data on territories occupied by the State of Israel since its founding, including the sovereign land of 3 of its 4 neighbouring countries, namely Syria, Lebanon and Egypt, as well as Palestinian land.

Notes

1. The data starts from 1949, the year of the ceasefire agreements that define the territory now generally recognised as Israel. Israel itself, however, has never declared its borders.

2. Shorter lived Israeli invasions of Jordanian territory in 1968 and Lebanese territory in 1979, 1996 and 2006 are not included on maps or timeline.

3. Map layers are adapted from Open Street Map. The maps of territories occupied in Egypt and Lebanon based on Malkit Shoshan's Atlas on the Conflict (see below).
