10/21/2018 19:24:06IndigoSquare@AFakeBan, Thanks, though I wouldn't really consider myself "good"... I just take advantage of my device's quirks :)

@Username, um... I guess with the way I'm drawing with my finger on a touchscreen, I'm digitally finger painting?

@Zap's Drawing, Thanks! Yeah... the automatic YouTube reshaping of profile pics... at least I'm still Indigo!

10/22/2018 22:37:56AesthexticFrickshere is a question: what laptop do you use to draw these amazingly boxy drawings?

10/26/2018 15:20:10Drawception_BotHi IndigoSquare! You do such a nice job on your drawings! Any advice for drawing strait lines with my iPad? Sometimes I get a strait line, but not very often!
17
10/26/2018 22:26:28IndigoSquare@FrostyMcNugs, @fundrawings,
I think it has to do with the device I'm using... it being low resolution and low sensitivity helps. I know that when I try to draw on my phone, I can't get these straight lines, and my phone does have much higher resolution and better sensitivity than my laptop. :)

@Drawception_Bot,
Thanks! If you are using an ipad, perhaps try putting two fingers on the screen at once... sometimes that can produce a straight line between the two fingers (and if you move the two fingers around the screen simultaneously, you could get a cool effect!). However, while straight lines produced this way will be perfectly straight, they might not be perfectly vertical or horizontal.

Going through my drawings on Drawception, it seems that my first squarish drawing was done on August 10th.

@SpanishLily, @hi,
Thank you! :)

@PheonixGod35294,
!

@Ruby Space Trash,
Thanks! I'm using a Lenovo ThinkPad (Yoga 11e Chromebook). It's an older one.

@sqsiigal,
Just a warning... not all touchscreens will be able to do this. I wouldn't expect the nice newer ones with great sensitivity and high resolution to be able to produce straight vertical and horizontal lines. However, a nice touchscreen paired with a good stylus could produce some excellent drawings of other styles!
25
10/29/2018 0:44:28MayaNaiseFun Fact, I thought you were a bot when I first saw your account since all of your lines are straight and the people look relatively similar
26
10/29/2018 22:30:55IndigoSquare@MayaNaise,
I'm not surprised :)
Here's another Fun Fact: About a month ago, someone on Drawception created a thread in the Forums accusing me of using forbidden third party scripts for drawing.

11/3/2018 18:58:35Zap’s DrawingI know that I’m commenting again, and you most likely find it to be a bother, but I have a question. Have you ever tried drawing like you do here, in real life. Like, with a pencil and paper? Just wondering if it’s possible without a ruler or anything, because I want to do... something...
30
11/4/2018 2:21:54IndigoSquare@Zap's Drawing,
Hello, I don't find it to be a bother at all... and your previous comment was more than a week ago! In fact, I like talking to others!

Regarding your question, no, I have never tried drawing like I do on Drawception in real life. That is because I don't really draw in real life... the last drawing I did was a few months ago! However, your question does make me curious as to whether I can replicate one of my Drawception panels using pencil on paper... so I think I will try that out and see how it goes. Maybe I'll record myself attempting it, and post it here as a video?

@Pengiun Minded, Hello! Yeah, that top game was shocking for me too... I wasn't expecting to be the second panel when I drew that, and when I found out I was second panel after I submitted my drawing... and that I was summoned immediately, I was quite surprised.

@21Potatoes, no, I'm not an alien :)

@DoodleBaldiBFB, Thanks! ... And I'm a female. The squarish girl I've been drawing (like the one at the top of this website) is meant to resemble me :)

11/18/2018 23:09:43PurpleCubeHello, my twin.
46
11/19/2018 19:32:32IndigoSquare@DickieDoodles, I do have relatively steady hands, and the fact that my touchscreen has rather low sensitivity makes it a bit easier to achieve straight lines!

@DoopKooper, hmm... that is an interesting suggestion... I had not thought of doing that before... perhaps I'll add that to my list of things to try/do in the future... thanks!

@PurpleCube, uh... I'm pretty sure there doesn't exist a Drawception user with that username...
47
11/20/2018 0:30:54Crab CookieHey! Sorry if someone has already asked you this, but why did you start drawing in squares? What was you inspiration behind it, or was it just a spur of the moment thing? Anyway, thanks if you answer this! Also, I really love your drawings and style, it's really cool, and you're an inspiration to me!! :D I hope I can be as good as you someday! Anyway, sorry for the really long message, bye now!! :)
48
11/21/2018 1:38:37IndigoSquare@Crab Cookie, Hello, and thank you! :)
I didn't really have much inspiration behind drawing in squares... it was definitely more of a spur of the moment thing.
When I first started playing Drawception, I noticed that whenever I tried to draw a smooth curve, it ended up looking lumpy due to the poor sensitivity of the touchscreen, and that was quite annoying.
But later I noticed that I could use my low-quality touchscreen to my advantage if I drew straight lines...
So on August 10th, when I got the caption "sunset over a city" I decided to try drawing that using only straight lines... and I found that it was really fun drawing this way, so from that day onward, I continued drawing like this!
49
11/21/2018 19:11:47Kirby281Have you considered making an actual YouTube channel for these? It would make it much easier for those interested to subscribe and be notified of new videos.

@FloweyTheFlower123, I have not considered posting my actual face on this website. Perhaps I might do it in the future... but I don't think I'm ready to do it just yet. Thank you though!

@PurpleCube, Wow, thank you! :)

11/23/2018 23:21:27Zap’s GamingFor some reason the comments section won’t scroll for me. Is this happening to anybody else?
54
11/24/2018 0:04:56IndigoSquare@Zap's Gaming, oh yikes, that is a problem... However, I seem to be able to scroll just fine when I access the website as a non-owner (that is, when I'm not logged in, so what I see is what you see). If I access this website on my phone, the Comments box is clickable. If I access this website on my laptop, if I hover my cursor over the Comments box, a little gray box appears on the top right corner of the Comments box, and that little gray box is clickable. Do either of those happen for you? Please let me know, thanks!

(If the comments remain unscrollable, another option would be for me to enlarge the Comments box, but that would not be ideal...)
55
11/24/2018 0:22:19Zap’s Drawing@IndigoSquare Thank You for the response, telling me on Drawception (although if I tap the grey button I can scroll down) currently, I’m using iPad, which I guess is closest to iPhone. I don’t know why it’s happening, but it is. BUT, since there is a workaround, I see no reason to change anything.

@SansLV, Wow, thanks :)

@mamadespair, Hello, and thank you! There's multiple reasons (and a series of events) for why I decided to create a website...
- Since I started drawing with straight lines in mid-August, a lot of people asked me in the comments how I did it.
- About two months ago, someone made a forum thread accusing me of using forbidden third party scripts (thankfully that thread is locked now... it kept on getting bumped).
- Someone asked me if I've ever considered streaming, and they said that they would be interested in watching my streams if I decided to do them. I had not considered streaming, and although I do think they might be fun to do, I'm a university student living in a dorm room with a roommate, and doing streams might disturb my roommate.
- Someone else suggested that I could record videos and upload them to YouTube, which I decided was a good idea.
I know there are several other Drawception users who have YouTube channels, but not websites. I decided to create a YouTube channel as well as a website because I think a website is more accessible for people... you need to have a google account in order to comment on YouTube, but anyone can comment on a website. Plus, I like how I can customize and add other stuff to a website, but I'm really not familiar with all the functionalities of YouTube yet.

@endergirl1872, Thanks! (and wow, that must have been a very large pocket!)

@Mr Memes, Thank you :)

@Razor the ohoho, Thanks!

12/8/2018 10:40:06JamesTheNamethis is so freaking amazing i need a touchscreen
67
12/8/2018 19:54:29IndigoSquare@JamesTheName,
Hello! Just a quick warning: not all touchscreens will be able to do this. My laptop is several years old already, and it has low quality touchscreen with low sensitivity, which helps with drawing straight lines. Newer touchscreens probably have better quality touchscreens with better sensitivity, so drawing straight lines on those might be a lot more difficult.

12/22/2018 22:47:38XenonHow did you get the computer you use for Drawception? And why did you stick with it instead of getting a new computer? Do you have any other computers?
73
12/24/2018 2:53:32VortexIsBackHow do you make those perfect circles.
74
12/24/2018 18:21:05IndigoSquare@Xenon,
My high school gave chromebooks to all the students to use throughout high school, and we got to keep them after we graduated. I'm a university student now, but I'm still using this chromebook because it still works and it is in generally good condition. I don't have any other computers.

@VortexIsBack,
The perfect circles I make in my drawings are dots, drawn with the various brush sizes (For example, the perfectly circular suns I draw are dots made using the largest brush).

@anonymous~, Wow, thank you! If you enjoy my Drawception drawings, perhaps you might be interested in looking at the art/design style of "flat design art." You might also enjoy looking at Kurzgesagt videos. Although there are notable differences between my drawings and Kurzgesagt art, many Drawception users have mentioned to me that my drawings remind them of Kurzgesagt. (In fact, I didn't know about Kurzgesagt until someone on Drawception mentioned them to me in the comments section of a Drawception game!)

Hey Indigo, just wanted to stop by and say hi! I love your art and your unique artstyle~! Btw, just out of curiosity, do you have any other hobbies other than Drawception? (also I didn't know you had a website till today lol)
83
1/21/2019 23:04:59IndigoSquare@YoshiThatSucksAtDrawing, Hello, and thank you! About what I do outside of Drawception... I don't really have time for hobbies. I am a university student, and most of the time I am in class or studying. Drawception is what I do when I want to take a break from schoolwork. I also love teaching (perhaps that can be considered a hobby?), and I have found several such jobs, teaching classes and tutoring students.

1/31/2019 11:59:41VladulHi! Really love your work, and as a drawception player myself, any tips on how to draw like you on a laptop? Is the mousepad better than the mouse?

2/1/2019 19:58:29Tomato RotatoI love your art! I think I remember Captioning one before, Obviously better than mine
88
2/2/2019 22:16:20IndigoSquare@yaheg, thank you! :)

@Vladul, Hello, and thanks!
If you use a laptop whose keyboard has a number pad, you could turn on the "mouse keys" feature on your device, which would enable you to draw straight lines using the number pad. (An additional benefit of using this method: Not only can you draw vertical and horizontal lines, you can draw perfectly 45 degree diagonal lines as well!). @Lightwryht has drawn straight-line style panels using this method: https://drawception.com/player/557204/lightwryht/ .
@Whyfye also draws using a laptop in a style that features straight lines, and uses a different method: https://drawception.com/player/827726/whyfye/ . To quote Whyfye: "I slide my finger across the edges of the trackpad on my MacBook for my straight lines."

@Waffle, thanks! I've been really active on Drawception since August, drawing a few panels almost every day. I think practice really helps with improvement!

@Tomato Rotato, thank you! :D You can improve your art as well, with more practice! (I play Drawception almost every day :))
89
2/11/2019 10:17:54CarampullosNice Job. Really simple yet creative. I am trying to find my own drawing style and need some professional advice... Can you plz give any tips that might improve my drawing in general?

91
2/13/2019 19:19:44TargetstrikeWow I didn't know you were so popular!
92
2/16/2019 0:54:27IndigoSquare@Carampullos, thank you! But I'm really not the right person to ask for drawing advice... I am certainly not a professional, and I have just started trying to do art outside of Drawception recently. Before joining Drawception, I did not do any art. But I'll try my best to address your questions. The first time I drew in my style, it just felt right. I really liked the way the drawing turned out, and I immediately knew I wanted to draw more in this style. Perhaps you could experiment with drawing in different styles, and you'll find one that "feels just right" to you as well! To improve your drawing in general, I'd say practice is important. I would say that, by drawing often, your drawings will naturally get better over time :)

@Zap, thanks! I thought putting all videos on one page would eventually lead to the problem of a long scroll down to the comments section. I also did my first Drawception Sandbox video, which is slightly different than my other videos, so I thought I'd separate them into different categories on different pages. And I added a "Other Art" page as well, because I've been experimenting with art outside Drawception recently, and I thought maybe I'll post some of these on this site.

@Targetstrike, hello! Yeah... I am somewhat well known on Drawception.
