The Baro Ki'teer Recommendations Compendium
3
4
Welcome! This spreadsheet is the collated repository of all the recommendation posts I've been making about Baro's offerings on the r/warframe subreddit. It was originally only created for personal use (hence the rather... utilitarian appearance and lack of version control), but after seeing many people looking for a comprehensive Baro guide, especially around Tennocon, I decided to make it publicly available, and add some features specifically to be used by guests. I hope you will find these recommendations useful (or at least funny).

FAQ
7
What is Warframe?
8
If you don't know what Warframe is, then first, how did you get here? Second, you might not get much out of reading this guide. Everything after this assumes you have at least a passing familiarity with the game's systems.
9
10
Who is Baro?
11
Baro Ki'teer is a mysterious merchant who sells rare and expensive wares to players who can afford his hefty prices of Ducats and Credits. Unfortunately, the quality of his merchandise is extremely variable - hence the need for a guide like mine.
12
13
Why should I care about Baro?
14
Baro sells Primed Mods, special mod variants with higher bonuses than their normal counterparts. As your equipment gains most of its power from its mods, acquiring and equipping these Primed Mods will can give you a significant boost and let you face greater challenges. Baro also sells some good-to-decent weapons (if nothing else, they're good for gaining Mastery Points). The rare and unpredictable availability of his wares also makes them good investments for later resale to other players (you can even sell the weapons, as long as you never used them in gameplay). Finally, everyone knows that the true endgame is Fashionframe, and Baro has a plethora of options in that field. Your opinion may vary on how desirable they are, of course.

When Baro?
17
Baro graces us with his presence once every two weeks. He appears in a randomly selected Tenno Relay at Friday 14:00 GMT, and stays for 48 hours. (Make sure not to miss him around the time your region is switching to and from Daylight Saving Time.) Every time, he has a different, semi-random selection of items available. He also brings at least one item that is entirely new (at least, new to his shop).

Around Tennocon, he also comes to a special Tennocon Relay, where visitors can browse his entire catalogue, including some very rarely seen items. However, you need to buy a Tennocon ticket (digital or physical) for real money in order to enter this Relay in the first place!

How's Baro?
20
He may present towards us a veneer of vanity and snobbery, but deep down, he's a sad and sensitive soul. Complete the "Sands of Inaros" quest to learn more about him!

22
How do I get more Ducats?
23
Orokin Ducats are a special currency only used to buy things in Baro's shop. You can get more Ducats by selling your surplus Prime parts in the Ducat Kiosks found in the central halls of every Relay. Just make sure you don't sell Prime parts that would worth a lot of Platinum: sell those to other players instead! (You can check platinum prices and ducat/plat ratios on sites like https://warframe.market/tools/ducats or by using programs like AlecaFrame or WFInfo.)
24
25
How do I get more Credits?
26
Credits are the basic free currency of Warframe, and you get them from basically everywhere. But to acquire the large amounts needed here, you might have to resort to farming. I would recommend the following spots, in increasing order of efficency (and difficulty):
- Doing the Sortie every day
- Quick runs of a Dark Sector node with high bonus credit payouts (like Gabii on Ceres or Hieracon on Pluto)
- Disruption on Laomedeia, Neptune
- Running the Index
- Fighting the Profit-taker boss

I want to buy something from Baro, but I can't log in for the weekend! What should I do?
29
First, consider your alternative options for accessing the game. Warframe is available for free on PC (with rather low system requirements), PlayStation 4 & 5, XBox... whatever the current and previous generation of that is called, Nintendo Switch and iOS devices. By using cross-save, you could log in through any of these devices. Or, if you have access to a high-speed and reliable internet connection, you could try using a game streaming service. My personal recommendation here is GeForce NOW, which has a free access tier, and can be used even through a simple browser window. (While this free tier is quite limited, it is sufficient for emergency housekeeping.)

If you absolutely cannot log in, you'll have to find some other ways to acquite the goods. The gameplay relevant items (weapons and mods) can be traded between players. Many people buy stuff from Baro just to resell it later. If you make the trade as soon as possible, the overall price you pay might not even be that much higher (although it will be in platinum, not in ducats).

Finally, if you're after something untradable, you just have to wait for it to reappear to Baro's shop. Most items take about 4-6 months to return. Alternatively, the special relay during Tennocon (held once a year, for a few days during summer) has every item available. However, accessing this shop requires buying a Tennocon ticket for real money.

How do I use the Shopping List?
32
First, you have to create a copy of the spreadsheet: in the header menu, select "File > Create a copy". (Note that the copy won't receive any updates I make to this spreadsheet.) After opening the copy, browse the list of recommendations and checkmark everything you want to buy. Then go to the "Shopping List 2" tab to see the total cost. If you want to buy more than one of something, you can include that there.

34
Should I buy this or that weapon from Baro?
35
Baro's weapons typically fall into low A or B rank in tierlists, so DE at least tries to justify their asking price. And even the trashiest of weapons are worth buying if you need the Mastery Rank they provide. Or if you have good riven for them, since their disposition is usually quite high. On the other hand, Warframe has a massive arsenal, and for every weapon Baro sells, there's gonna be another that can do the same job just as well, or even better. In that sense, everything in the weapons section is "safe to skip."
36
37
What's with the "TL;DR ranking" ? I thought the Ignis Wraith is great!
38
TheTL;DR a very simple, no-nuances ranking of whether you should buy the item in question. It goes from S: "must buy" , to F: "never buy, not even as a collector's item". I must emphasize that the ranking assesses the act of buying the item from Baro, not the usefulness of the item itself. Indeed, many of the F-ranked items are quite powerful, but they can all be acquired elsewhere for a much lower cost, be it the time spent farming, or buying it for plat from other players. Meanwhile, everything that is actually exclusive to Baro's shop recieves at least an E rating.
39
40
Why do you have multiple copies of Primed So-and-so?
41
On Reddit, I often get a few comments asking this, which makes it belong onto this list in the most literal sense. :)
In my early days, I made my platinum by buying Primed Mods from Baro, ranking them up to 10 with the Endo and Credits I farmed. Then I sold them a few months later, once the prices went back up (when Baro brings an item, its market price always has a dip for a while.) However, as Endo became more ubiquitous over the years, the price of maxed mods declined, until doing this just did not worth my time anymore. However, it might still worth yours - a desirable rank 10 Primed Mod might not sell for 300 plat anymore, but it still sells for 80-100.
42
43
Why are some entries in the list highlighted with different colors?
44
A light, pastel-colored highlight just means those items belong to the same thematic group. There is nothing special about them, the highlighting just serves to guide the eyes when browsing the list.

A dark red highlight with a non-standard text color means that item is not actually available from Baro (not even in the Tennocon Relay). They were either removed from circulation, or not yet officially revealed. In the latter case, we only know about them from leaks - and we might never actually see them make an appearance in-game!

46
I really appreciate your content! How can I say thanks?
47
I don't have a presence on most social media, but I spend a lot of time on the Warframe subreddit. You can message me there, or visit the recommendation post I make after Baro's arrival every other Friday. And if you really liked my stuff, consider giving me a tip on Ko-fi:
